Thought it's only suposed to be painful for a few days. Sigh, I think I might have dry sockets even though I made it a point to do nothing that's suposed to cause them T.T It's pretty bad without medicine, but lortab reduce it to a dull ache. I'm running out though. Sigh, mostly just ranting probably go see dentist soon.

Update (not that anyone cares): Apparently, the suture opened up and food got trapped in it although it didn't look like dry sockets or infected (probably because of preemptive penicillin(my guess)). Had like 5 dentists in the room looking at it : ( They just flushed it out gave me some stuff to be able to do it at home + more pain medicine, and told me to get back to them if it still hurt after a few days.

I was barely eating anything before, and now I'm eating even less : (

Is it still very painful? Is that why you're eating less?

I'm sorry you're having trouble. What were you eating that food got stuck in there? Stick mostly to soft foods like mashed potatoes, soups, etc.

What are you eating? When I got my wisdom teeth removed I just drank liquid food. Jamba juice, naked juice, odwalla juice, etc for a couple days.

It doesn't seem as painful today not sure if pain medicine just hadn't worn off fully yet; I guess it's mostly fear that's making me not eat right now. Last few days when the pain medicine wore off, it was just a bit below crippling the pain.

First day, I had a milk shake (with a spoon) and soup second day I was I tried eating a donut or bread and stuff (instructions they gave me said I could eat solids second day so I tried eating really soft stuff). I grabbed a big tub of vanilla yogurt yesterday planning on trying that, but I haven't actually eaten anything today or yesterday, which I know is really bad. I should probably go get some juices; I've been avoiding drinking anything with calories for so many years that it didn't really occur to me.

Go back to soups for starters. Or the yogurt. See how that goes, and work your way up from there. The pain will get better as time goes on and healing progresses.

eat ice cream.
It's cold (necessary to avoid bleeding), it becomes liquid (this means that they won't have to wash food out of the hole), it's caloric and filling.

Yea, I went to the store and bought some juice, more yogurt, and there was icecream in the freezer already apparently.

2 weeks later (tomorrow morning) and while most of the pain is gone, there is the random 'ache' if I chew stuff that is tough. Day 4-5 should be the worst and a steady slow decrease after that over the next 7-10 days.

Make sure to do your salt water rinses, it helps clean it and soothes the gums so it hurts less.

I ate KFC mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese around day 4. I whipped with the gravy in a bowl so it was really soft. KFC way over does their noodles so I could eat it 1 noodle at a time without chewing.
