Shamrock is old, but he has heart. Will he finally be able to catch Ortiz? I hope this is the last Shamrock/Ortiz fight, its not all that exciting to me.

I watched (and paid) for their last fight. The ref stopped it to early, but Shamrock was getting a pounding and it would have continued had the ref not stopped it. I don't see this fight being any different, but due to the hate Shamrock has for Ortiz, I don't see him giving up or getting knocked out.

The ref will stop the fight again.

Agreed, but he is too hard headed to do so. This fight will end the same as the last, unless Ortiz makes a mistake and Shamrock lands a good punch to knock him out.

The thing i don't like about shamrock is he never gives up. The thing I like about shamrock is he never gives up. The guy has been around and wanting to face his demons / challengers from the start of UFC. It's frustrating but also inspiring. I would never have the determination to repeatedly lose to people like that, and I certainly would be too proud to withdraw from a UFC fight just because the guy I wanted to meet had to withdraw.

When is this? I saw the ad for it but can't recall when it is.

Shamrock should stop fighting. He has the heart of a lion but his skills are failing him.

Dude. If Big John McCarthy is reffing, that fight WILL NOT END UNTIL BLOOD IS ALL OVER THE OCTAGON. Either him or Mazzagoti. It should be one helluva fight, because Shamrock will fight until he can't anymore.

Smackrock was a good fighter in his prime, but just that good, not great. He isn't the monster UFC use to push him as.

Don Frye said in an interview a few years back that Ken was very overhyped as a fighter. I tend to agree with him, Ken should have never had the push UFC gave him. Don Frye would have beat Shamrocks ass any day of the week back then. Ortiz busted him up good the first time, the 2nd was a wash, maybe he won but the fight sucked. The 3rd one? I dunno, Ortiz is obviously a better fighter, but I've seen plenty of UFC fights and know it only takes 1 mistake or one perfectly landed punch to change the outcome of a match.

Even if Shamrock wins, most will still consider Ortiz a better brawler.

tito will beat him for the 3rd time. he'll be GnPing him just like last time, and the ref will be forced to step in. i guarantee it doesn't get stopped early this time.

apparently, win or lose, tito has already signed to fight liddell for the championship in december...

I think he's taken too many hits to the head. I don't think his age is an issue since he's in superb shape, but he just seems distant, the way a lot of fighters get when they've been hit too many times. He just walks into punches without even seeing them coming.

Ortiz by KO

Looking forward to Liddell vs Ortiz in December.

Dude, you have an eagles song in your sig. Pretty obvious you'll be watching "Hee-Haw" or a "Murder, She Wrote" rerun that night. We whipper-snappers enjoy this kind of stuff... ;)

We'd all love to see Shamrock win, but that's just not going to happen. Damn do I hate Ortiz...he is a good coach though.

UFC stinks any more, the old days it was so bad ass. You had
the Gracies - every one of them is incredible
Don Frye - way tougher then Ken, and more entertaining to watch too.
Tank Abbott - his record was pretty crummy, like 6-5 but he was so fun to watch, he would run after people trying to punch them out, and that dude he tried to throw out of the Octogon *classic!*
Coleman - could whip both Shamrock & Ortiz on any day of the week.

Liddell is nice to watch, Ortiz is a good fighter, but such an a-hole it's not funny. After Randy retired last year, I think UFC lost some of it's umph. Maybe Bob Sap will come over from Pride to fight, always like watching Bob throw down.

That's actually not a bad idea about Sapp. He's a beast, but doesn't have the all around game needed in pride. Pride's heavyweights are a lot better than UFC's, so Sapp would fit in better in UFC. I'd be interested in Sapp vs. Arlovski or Sylvia. But Sapp would get killed against Fedor or CroCop. I'd almost feel sorry watching him get dominated in by the top heavyweights of Pride.
