If anyone wonders why I think the UFC is fixed, pre-determined, sports "entertainment", etc. look no further than the first two fights tonight. Both guy are two of the most dangerous strikers the UFC has ever seen and both barely threw a punch, walked in with their chin up the entire fight, when they did throw they threw looping shots with very little on them, and had their mouths open from the first round on. At this point I am just waiting for Dana White to hold a conference to announce that the UFC is scripted. Maybe Ken Shamrock is working behind the scenes to setup a deal with the WWE so they can just trade athletes over and over like they do with Lesnar.

Pathetic. They should at least not dose these guys with multiple painkillers before they send them out to lose.

I don't know why I check these ATOT UFC threads. I always end up reading the dumbest shit I've ever seen.

mcdonald is very socially awkward. Joe had the wtf is this guy talking about face most of that interview

Even with his awesome skills, I don't think he could have done a worse job at promoting himself tonight.

I thought he was a confident and well composed kid, but he brought out the best of his douchebaggery tonight. I think that surprised a lot of people who've been following him. The crowd was quickly taken back by his antics in the ring and many boo'd him throughout the interview.

Drink the Kool Aid all you want, but go back and watch those fights. Both guys were in painkiller zombie mode compared to how they usually fight. And I see this all the time. Guys show up and don't even try. But hey, keep believing in jesus, fairy tales, rasslin, and mma being real man. Good luck with that...lol

seemed like shogun didnt follow up on techniques that worked. The few times he attacked his legs it seemed like it was working better than getting punched running in like kimbo slice

You must not have see the most recent penn fights. He's still capable against the right style, but doesn't have a lot of fuel in the tank, particularly when getting rocked. The dude got rocked many times tonight, including to the body, which can be very crippling. To think that's because the fight was set up is cartoonish and bufoonish.

damn missed BJ Penn - good to see butt-chin made it

i was kinda hoping he would win. but he is getting old, fighting a lot heavier and against a damn good fighter. But Penn has always been a favorite.

Also he is old and fighting a lot heaver then he should be. Penn has never been known for his cardio anyway.

I thought all that considered he did far better then i really thought he would

Gustafsson was impressive. As tall and lenky as he is, he fights more compact than most his size. Great balance.

I'm going with Henderson for a decision on a fantastic fight.

ugh. i dislike both the next fighters. but it should be a great fight. I agree with JJSole i give it to henderson at decision

Dude, go watch his fights. His striking has always been top notch and yet he looked like one of the kids on TUF tonight. Throwing wild, looping punches with nothing on them and rarely throwing many punches and no combos at all hardly.

Hey look guys, I can see that all of you take this stuff real seriously so I will just bounce from the thread, but I seriously ask you to do some research before just dismissing this if you want to know the truth. I've been watching the UFC since the first ones back in the early 90's.

I'm not saying this out of some grudge, I mean I'm sitting here watching it just like you. They used to laugh at the guys who said wrestling was fake before the 80's rolled around, too.

Oh and in a real fight, Jones would knock Gustafson's slow, lanky ass out in 2 minutes. That will be another good one to watch to see what I am talking about because I think Dana wants the belt off of Jones after he ruined a whole PPV for the company. :\

I predict many jabs will be thrown in this fight.

I also predict a few spinning jump kicks from henderson.

I took a nap and woke up just in time to see the results of the Penn fight. I kinda hoped he would have won...

Macdonald is a very awkward fighter to fight. His stance is wide, he's got great reach, and use his legs and punching accuracy to control the distance. I'm open to a good fix, but I don't see it in either of these (I didn't see the first fight.)
