I like his comment about "I didn't think he'd try to hurt me with his head", LOL..."my wrist was fine, but my knuckles...his bone head!"

Fluke? kinda like Gonzaga Vs Crocop? Sorry that wasn't a fluke.

No I wasn't referring to that fight. I've seen plenty of UFC fights that end with one punch in 20 seconds. I'd rather see a good match up thats goes the distance than a fight like that.

I like a good mix of both types of fights.

Damn fight was on tv, expected it to be on at the chow hall like every UFC and instead the LSU game was on, which was already in blowout mode.

CroCop was a no-show, again. Can't believe I haven't seen an ounce of what made him good in other MMA organizations.

Was disappointed in Dan...was expecting so much more from him...he looked gas by the end of the 2nd round...think maybe he was just overly confident going into it and didn't train like he should have. That or Quinton is really just that good...I thought him taking out Chuck was a fluke/lucky, but he really took it to him. Props to him for being the "ultimate" champion.

yeah, if there's no clear winner then it's a draw in my mind. seems silly to declare someone a winner when they're really close in points.

The Kongo - Crocop fight was interesting. I'm not sure anyone can really stand stand up with Kongo. He's too tall, too strong and too good a kickboxer.

Breakdown of what I thought of the 3 main fights:

Kongo/Cro Cop: I was really disappointed with Cro Cop. It seems like he either didn't prepare enough or just didn't feel like fighting. Tonight's Cro Cop was not the Cro Cop I've seen in the past. Dont get me wrong, Kongo is a beast and a force to be reckoned with but its almost like Cro Cop didn't feel like putting forth any effort. Like I said, big disappointment.

Bisping/Hamill: I liked the intro of "Born in the USA" vs. "London Calling"... But, like everyone else in this thread has said.. WTF? There is no way Bisping won that fight. Yeah he won the last round, but he got knocked around big time the 1st round and just a little bit on the 2nd round. I'm still surprised that they gave it to Bisping and its been several hours since I've seen it. Hamill got screwed over and I was upset since I was rooting for him and was excited that he was kicking so much ass in the first 2 rounds.

Rampage/Henderson: I know a lot of people in this thread can't stand Rampage but he cracks me up. First of all, when he enters the arena, he looks like he's going to murder anyone that gets in his way. I even joked with my friend: "Dude, If Rampage was walking down the street towards me, and looked at me like he is looking right now... Id just give him my wallet, no questions asked" Definitely an intimidating look he puts on in the beginning. They both fought a great fight. It was obvious Henderson was pretty tired towards the end, hell they both were. But they both stuck it out and Rampage did deserve that win. His comments while talking to Rogan were hilarious. You never know what you are going to get when he talks.

Edit: And holy crap Season 6 with Matt Hughes/Matt Serra looks like its going to be awesome based on the previews.

I was disappointed in the end. They kept hyping for weeks that the main event was a title unification match. Meaning someone was walking away w/ 2 light heavyweight belts and only 1 would be around from now on. Even UFC.com poked jabs at boxing for having so many heavyweight belts. Then I saw the video package before the fight and they made it out to be only the UFC belt was on the line and sure enough thats exactly what it was. At first I was confused and then watched Joe talk about Dan still having both his pride belts and not just the one not on the line.
WTF......

Kongo was a terrible fight for Cro Cop to take after his loss to Gonzaga. Mirko's confidence was shaken and he goes up against a guy who is 99.99% likely to stand up with him. That and Congo is taller/bigger than him, too. That said, Cro Cop didn't show and Congo had a smart game plan; utilize body kicks. Cro Cop was so afraid of getting KTFO'ed by another head kick that every time Congo threw a kick Cro Cop blocked high and left his ribs open. Those body shots will wear any fighter down and make him look sluggish like Mirko was in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Apparently, somebody did take Rogan's advice and "kidnapped" Congo and taught him some ground work. He smothered Mirko pretty well.

Bisping/Hamil. Typical. No way that Bisping won that fight. There will be some repercussions for that. You want to know how Bisping won? I'll tell you; it's a business decision. The UFC is making a huge push to expand outside of the US. Buying Pride and having PPV's in other countries is part of that. White and the Frito bros have been very outspoken about their plans to make the UFC a world-wide brand. That decision was made from up on high to help push the UFC in the UK. No if's and's or but's. Look at the intro songs of the fighters: Born in the USA and London's Calling. The whole thing was set up as a US/UK fight and the UFC already has a huge following in the US. -> Bisping has to win.

Rampage/Henderson was a good fight. No question about that decision, though. Henderson did seem to gas, but it was probably from Jackson's freakish strength. I was surprised to see Rampage do so well against Henderson in the clinch and on the ground. A lot of that wsa just power over technique, but that's Rampage's style. Was hoping for a more decisive victory for wither one, but it was a pretty good fight.

Davis/Taylor was AMAZING! My favorite kinds of fights are when there are momentum shifts and then all of a sudden, BAM, get caught in something and it's game over. Very entertaining fight.

Alexander? He can't keep doing what he's done, but he has skill, that's for sure. Looks like the old "Ding and Dash" is back, but with refinement.

Can't wait for UFC 77. Vera is going to destroy Sylvia. After that, he should cut to 205 and go for the title.

Oh, the reason there isn't 1 unified belt/champion is because Pride and UFC have different rules. They were fighting under the UFC's rules, so the UFC belt was on the line.

i was very disappointed in judges' decisions in favor of bisping. hamill controlled the first two rounds which should reward him a victory over the champ.

i have a feeling there'll be a hamill/bisping rematch...with hamill winning!
