UFC 135 Jones vs BA Baracus (Light Heavyweight championship) Sept 24

Rashad just fought. Rampage beat Machida.

Its really just a timing issue because Rashad got injured, then Jon Jones got a hand injury. Rashad is going to get his shot.

only way rashad gets his shot is if Jones wins. with Rampage you never know. Talent wise i think Jones is far ahead. IF rampage comes in and in shape he can cause problems. Rampage just does not seem the same fighter he has been.

As much as I like Rampage, he doesn't stand a chance... but again neither does Rashad... Jones is on a different level.

The UFC has turned in to a joke, the way they will continue to have popular, but horrible fighter continue to fight (Forrest, Hughes, Liddell, Couture)

Rampage has shown nothing in his last 5 fights that proves he brings anything to the table Jones hasn't dealt with before. This lasts 2 rounds at most and will probably be another brutal dismantlement by Jones.

Rampage is crazy to take this fight. It's obviously a cash grab on his part. Jones is going to demolish him. Rampage has been in too many wars and just has nothing left in the tank.🙁
I'm pulling for Rampage all the way. One of my all time favorites.

Rashad will beat jones. For the record.. i HATE rashad.

The issue I have with Rashad vs Jones is that Rashad is a LNP fighter, always has been. I've never seen an exciting fight he's been in and honeslty I think the only way to put Jones away is to be super aggressive and take his range away. This will only work if you've got a killer clench and wrestling, see what he did to Bader. I also know that Jones hasn't really been challenged yet so that will be something to see as well, does he have the heart that is required to come back from a bad round or getting rocked.

The talent pool at that level is just so shallow, it's always hard to come up with good fights. Boxing has been that way for 100 years, hence the 'bum of the month club' of yore.

I like Rashad and he has a MUCH better shot than Rampage. I really don't even want to try and pick Jones vs Rashad right now until I see Jones vs Rampage and Rashad's next fight.

Machida poses the biggest stylistic threat to someone like Jones imo. Silva vs Jones would be quite awesome too!

Jones is a wrestler. his advantage in his decent striking is his reach. all those moves he does, like the spinning elbow is because he's not too worried of takedown attempts because of his wrestling
That is partly it. But, it is also about his being one of the most opportunistic fighters in MMA. He is constantly improvising; the hammer fist he hit Shogun with while in leg attack position at the end of the round is a good example. Very doubtful they drill that much, if at all, but he adapts fast to any position.

I think he will maul Rampage. Jackson just likes to box anymore, and that won't be enough to stop JBJ from being all over him like a cheap suit.

I agree.

IF Rampage gets his head in the fight h e can cause Jones a lot of problems.

I usually don't make predictions so far out (like to see the fighters before the fight) but i think Jones has a 2nd round knockout. the kid has tons of talent and the physical parts to win. he is long, fast and strong.

This will be a good test of discipline for Jones, since Rampage can 'lights out' anyone if he gets close enough and connects. Jones will probably do what Machida does so well, and use his legs to score points and keep spacing (and Jones has more reach.)

Not to take anything away from rampage but look at Hamill's record, he lost like 3-4 in a row then quit. Machida wasn't faring much better, he's lost his last few then ko'd an old ass Couture. Really it was 3 losses in a row, there is no way he should have had the decision over shogun in their first fight, but that's a different story.

What it all comes down to, for me, is that Rampages last KO win was almost 3 years ago and only has 3 KO's in the last 5 years. Jones has finished all but one opponent, not including the 'loss' to Hamill where he was well on his way to a (T)KO before the stupid illegal elbow. Like I said before, I really like Rampage as a fighter but he's on his way out... There is no way he wins.

Oh man this shit is going down tomorrow!!

I was never a big fan of Jon Jones but these days I do not like him. I hope Rampage smashes him but I think his chance of winning is verysmall.

Everyone talks about his "KO power" and he is some KO beast but like Pantlegz1 said, his recent record doesn't have much KOs. Then again what most people talk about on MMA forums is group think or just dumb shit. Though Rampage does have good power and it is a MMA fight so I do give him a shot at winning.

What's weird is that "spygate" shit which I've just thought was a weird Rampage thing but it seems like it's actually real!

At 4:1 odds, I threw some money down on Rampage. I've never seen him this motivated since the Chuck fight. He really didn't give a flying F about fighting Matt Hamill. The Lyoto fight was meh, but really he was chasing him around the ring the first 2 rounds before Lyoto decided to do anything in the 3rd. The Rashad fight he was coming from a year lay off and just Hollywood in his mind.

I sure would like to see Rampage take this, but the fact is, he's just not the same fighter he was about 5 yrs ago. Bones in 2. Rampage is going to buckle with one of those spinning back kicks from Jones and then Jones will pounce.
