If continuing his education leads to higher salary (he obviously had the brains to make it to at least $100k, I would imagine he can handle his career path) then it makes more sense to let him finish.

Beyond that, what kind of kid wants to go to dad's house where the funnest thing he can take you to do is McDonald's and get you a happy meal because that's all he can afford. He's paying her fully a third of his income here.

No one forced him to drop out of school. He could have used his half of the $80k savings, he could have taken out loans. He received his Master's degree 5 years ago, he must be close to finishing his doctorate.

No one forced her to blow $40k on useless ventures.
She could have taken out a loan for her business.
She could have spent her own $40k savings on her son.
He could also have spent his $40k on hookers and blow...

Anything else?

Judge Nancy A. Pollard should be charged with murder.

^ We should petition to have her removed from the circuit.

I've never heard of a single ex that spent that money wisely. I'm sure they are out there but it is rare. More than likely it is going to be a slush fund for a typically female parent.

As much as my ex annoys the hell out of me with little things, she has been very good about making sure that she either spent the child support on things for our son, or put it in a savings account for college. She has been exceptional as an ex wife, and proves that there are some good ex wives out there.

There are some responsible women out there, just because some of the guys are posting about their stupid ass ex wives doesn't mean there are just as many responsible ones. Both of my best friends are divorced but both split amicably and have no problems with what they're paying for support. Even my buddy at the Pentagon doesn't complain about his $900 payments (he only makes 65K) but is always bragging about his daughter and showing me pictures. Want his email address and his take on the situation? Life may not always be fair, but it's the winners who dust themselves off and use it as a motivating factor to better themselves.

Only cowards cannot control their emotions and use a little setback as an excuse to execute someone at point blank range in front of their own child. If this guy doesn't get the chair then our justice system is just as broken as the child support system. Cowards like this don't deserve to live and breathe with the rest of us who do abide by this great nation's laws (even if 5% are broken).

5%? What country do you live in? I'm here in the USA, and the justice system is irreconcilably broken. 30% of the laws are outright bullshit, and another 20% or more are misapplied, or selectively enforced.

Nobody's saying that our system is perfect, but show me a country that's better. If you can, then maybe you should move there because you'll be happier.

telling people to move because they are complining about how teh goverment works is silly. many who complain want the country to be better. They want the goverment to fix the propblems thare we see.

No. 4 (tie): Auckland, New Zealand
No. 6: Dusseldorf, Germany

In Mercer Consultings annual Quality of Living Survey, Europe once again dominates the list of 215 countries around the world. The top three cities are, by rank, Vienna, Zurich (last years winner), and Geneva. Commonwealth nations fare pretty well, too, winning 9 of the top 30 spots -- even though London comes in only at 38. The U.S. also fares poorly, barely making it into the top 30 with Honolulu and San Francisco in the bottom two places. The top city in Asia is Singapore, at no. 26. No cities from Africa or South America are in the top 30. The bottom? Baghdad once again comes in at 215.
