U.S. Works Up Plan for Using Nuclear Arms

What a load of crap. These contengencies have been worked and reworked since the 40's. This is nothing but media hype on the new catch phrase "axis of evil." Don't buy it.

<< These and a host of other directives, including calls for developing bunker-busting mini-nukes and nuclear weapons that reduce collateral damage, are contained in a still-classified document called the Nuclear Posture Review (NPR), which was delivered to Congress on Jan. 8. >>

This is so 1991. And if it is so "classified" then how does the everknowing LA Times get ahold of it without facing federal crimes? The point is we have nukes pointed at everyone in every possible way. If we don't have them pointed we are a launch code away from it. As far as in theatre tactical nukes: No doubt that was looked over the last time we went to play in the sand box. EVERY nuclear capable country is considered a "potential" threat, even so called allies. It's just business, nothing new.

I agree that it does make an interesting topic, just don't think this a new problem. Just an old one that we havn't put to rest (one way or another).

Somewhere in a government file drawer they have a plan to nuke Iceland if Czar ever comes to power there.

The government thinks that it is it's job tp prepare for any contingency no matter how small the possibility of it coming about. It must be that damned Boy Scout brainwashing of "Be prepared" that they went through when they were young. It's all a conspricacy I tell ya.

nice, but uncalled for.

"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein

I don't think so, I will still have my weapons!

I have contingency plans!

<< I'll take Eintein's word over Bidude's any day. LOL >>

Really? Did you know Einstein couldn't balance a check book?

And your point Bigdude? Are we now to believe Einstien was an idiot based upon your observation? Did you know he also did very poorly when attending school. This in no way diminishes the fact that he possesed an extraordinary intellect. I believe I'll place more stock in the word of someone who was widely known to be a genius then someone who spouts such gems of brilliance as "Duhhh, I got guns, go bang".

My point is Einstein, had a defective brain, he was great in a limited area. In others he was a complete idiot!

<< My point is Einstein, had a defective brain, he was great in a limited area. In others he was a complete idiot! >>

And that disqualifies what he said and makes your "Duhhh, I got guns, go bang" comment more credible?

So what's your excuse?

Let us not forget this is the LA Times, the same publication that is zaney enough to give print space to people like eminent Bush-hating pundit Robert Scheer, who wrote an article entitled "Bush's Faustian Deal With the Taliban" and lied through his teeth when he claimed the Bush Administration gave the Taliban $43 million for opium interdiction.

Just to clarify, you feel the government plans too much? Brainwashed? I know you meant that as a tongue in cheek joke. It's just hard to swallow when liberals (i don't know if anyone in this forum is one or not, liberals in general) spend a large amount of time bashing the government for its intrusive manner and then in the same breath chastise it for not taking all the measure it could to protect them. I know its cliche but Freedom isn't free.

Actually Einstiens brain was as far from defective as you could imagine. Its true that he had no time for the everyday banalities of life. He was a thinker, as such he didn't like to waste his time worrying about what he'd have for supper or what he'd wear on any given day.

I can honestly say that you're the first person I've ever heard who has stated that one of the most brilliant men of our time was "defective". Its known that many people of genius status have little time for the everyday concerns that plague the lives of most of us.

I get the impression that you believe in some way you're mentally superior to him. Next will you tell us that Hawking is an idiot because he cant dress himself?
