I don't think there's anyone here who hates anyone for their views and posts here. At most, some members might be considered cowards for making bold statements and then running away, choosing to ignore answering questions concerning those statements. ( *cough*Alistar7*cough*)

You tell me why it makes sense to you. This country in the past has waited till being attacked and payed a very high cost for it. Those who serve our country would rather lay their lives down first to prevent somebody from ever having the chance of attacking our people. These terrorist groups want nothing more then to kill Americans as well as some of our allies anywhere anytime. With this President and " most " of the US population behind him we had to put the smoldering fire out. This United States will never again be an unwilling target.

Truckie - you're fooling yourself and being rather naive if you think our actions during the Bush administration will allow us to "never again be an unwilling target." The terrorists will get us again, it's just a matter of time. In fact, they're probably plotting something right now. Attacking all the countries in the world that look at us funny won't prevent that. Look at Israel, with some of the best intel and military that U.S. dollars can buy. They get hit like a drunken prostitute whenever the Palestinian terror orgs feel like they need to make a point.

I didn't ask if you agreed with it. I asked if it made sense to you.

There will always be a boogie man out there to hurt us. We need to take a long, hard look at our foreign policy. Are we creating as many future terrorists as we're trying to put down? Some would say probably. The subjugation of the middle east won't solve the root problem because acts exactly like it helped create the mess in the first place.

When you set out to be the biggest A-hole on the block you make enemies. I fear the U.S. is going out of its way to make itself a target.

Agreed here JellyBaby. There's no doubt that the US ( past and present ) has contributed to an unstable mid east as well as other areas. I agree that the US needs to make right some wrongs that have been done.

I am glad you used "the US" instead of "Americans" because I know several people that were shot at while enforcing the southern no fly zone.

Your stance on this whole issue is a little bit confusing. You do realize that American foreign policy contributes to the instability of the Middle East, yet you are a determined supporter of the said contribution.

Yes the US " has contributed " but is not the only reason . You relize that the wrongs have happened over years of time and are not problems the current President caused. There are many right things done on the part of the US to help in the mid east as well. Not " one " country " is " responsible for how bad it's been over the years there. The US is now in a position where it has to deal with the negitive side in the mid east right now. But as JellBaby put it " We need to take a long, hard look at our foreign policy " and make some changes to benifit as many or all countries involved.
