No, we're a not so great nation - anymore, we're lead by a paranoid who was asleep at the wheel
pushing tax breaks for his Corporate friends who paid for his election instead of paying attention
to what was going on around him in world diplomacy and international policy.
Wasn't important to him then, because he didn't really care.

After 9-11 he is on a guilt trip, and picked a pansy to settle daddys grudge with - as a
WWF type of show. Iraq was never a threat to us, and was barely a threat to the region.

Why didn't he comply ? - he did comply, he just couldn't expose his countries weakness
to those who surrounded him, as if they thought that he was that weak Iraq would have been
over-run by one of the political enemy countries around him, not many friends you know.
It had to look like he was a threat to keep those countries ay bay, Iran for example, revenge.

If a country had attacked Iraq (other than us) do you really believe we would have stepped in
to help liberate the Iraqi People from an opressive regime that was imposing their will on them ?

This thread shows how blinded by hate for Bush most of you are ( like we didn't already know ) so much hatred againt a polital party and view that Americas saftey isn't even cared about. Clinton " almost " had the balls to go into Iraq and deal with the problem but he left it to the next President to take care of. I believe even Gore would have had to act and would have had he gotten in. Hate is the " cop out " emotion that's easy to allow oneself to fall into to just let yourself point fingers and say " see thats wrong " and " that's not the way to do it " .
 
The Iraqis had a plan to fly the jets underground where they would surface in texas and blow up a baseball team. They were within 45 min of having the technology ready. We were definitely justified in starting an illegal war.

Both articles, written a month apart, say the same thing:
1. There has been progress
2. Expect surprises.

By linking to the article RDWY is essentially saying "See, there has been progress, we may find something (AKA 'suprises') soon". I was not quoting him directly, but merely summing up the ideas in his post in several words (like I did with Alistar's post).

That's all very interesting, really. The "hippies" were treated as pariahs, death threats were given to some, boycotts were announced/started, "artists"songs were banned from radio, people were accused of treason. Nobodys " asking " for more time on the US side. How come the people who were for giving Iraq more time ( added to the 10+ years Iraq had BTW ) how come they were not out shouting for " show us the WMDs " or results of the "destrution" of said WMDs ? And demanding proof right away. Like they are now of the US and it's Allies ? The US is " telling " you it's on track and " will " find WMDs or results that they were " all " destroyed and accounted for. Iraq chose not to comply and delay and with terrorist groups out there hungry for a chance to get their hands on somthing like Iraqs WMDs from Iraq or elsewhere to use on the US or other freindly allies, the US and it's Allies were in my opinion right to go in at the time they did. History will prove this and other actions to come as necessary.
