Cat claw clippers shouldn't cost much. They are just little scissors with a hooked end.

And cats can get moled if you mean the bumpbs on your skin. Not sure if they are bad or can be removed or what.

2. Is there any way to clip a cats nails without one of those super-expenisve cat-claw clippers?

Yes- just use Human finger- or toe-nail clippers. No need for anything else.
