1.I wouldn't think they have moles since they don't have the same kind of skin like we do.
2. Simply don't know.

I cut my cat nails with a small pair of wire cutters. Much sharper and easier to use and handle than those silly cat claw clippers.

Be real careful when you clip a cat's claws - there is a vein in the nailbed that can
cause infection if cut, and there is also a nerve ending there. Only take off the actual
point tip of the claw, or you may cause serious damage.

It's best to not bother, as they grow back quite quickly, and they will start scratching again.
Just get them a good durable scratching post, show them where it is and gently reinforce
their urge to scratch, by always taking them back to the scratching post.

As a kittens grow up, they learn to control their claws better, so the bloody forarm
from playing with them, will eventually heal - most likely before you bleed to death.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes in the middle of night, a cat will sit patiently by the hole in the ground and when the
mole pokes it's head out - Wa La ! The cat has a mole !

But seriously folks, some cats do have little moles around their facial area - and you can see
them by the whisker like hairs that grow from them - check around the jaw line by the cheeks.

thanks for the claw advice. he has gotten much better...but the potential for danger is too great for me to even bother with that. my arms can tough it out (its my lips while im asleep that i worry about)

as far as moles are concerned....well, he has an odd black thing (not a tick as far as my nurse mother and i can figure) protruding from his side. we thought maybe it was a thorn but it doesnt seem to hurt him. ill just try to remember next time im at the vet.
pictures imminent!

Yes cats can have moles.

I clip both my cats nails with a regular angled nail clipper. But be careful like Captnkirk said,

Me too. I have a small pair of Craftsman dikes that I use to trim our cats nails. The blue grip stuff on the handles makes them much easier to use than the ones our vet gave us.

Just buy a really good scratching post (mine has carpet and twine). A nice high one that they can climb on.

And accept the fact that they will destroy your furniture.

You can clip their nails so long as you have either a laid back cat or you train them early in life to let you handle their feet. I use something like these: clippers

All you have to do is hold their foot with one hand and press on the top of the "toe" to push the nail outward. I clip off the tip end and don't go too far up since all you want to do is to get rid of the sharp tip.

All bets are off if you have a cat like I have now. Then you try to hold the cat while attempting to protect your face and hands from attack.

1) Yes, skin is skin. Very little variation amongst mammalian species

2) Depends on how much blood you are willing to lose

1. I've never heard of cats having moles, but I suppose anything's possible.

2. Use a regular pair of nail clippers. Just be careful to only cut the very tip of the claw off, otherwise you run the risk of cutting into the quick and making their claw bleed.
