I hope you won't have to eat your sarcasm.

Only a coward would fall for that, you're a coward, thus you fall for it. The Big Lie is nothing more than a tool to make you think you need protection. Since you're a bed wetting coward, you need it.

I work in Manhattan. Sure, thousands died, but the last thing I'd want is for other people take advantage of my death, give up freedoms, and "avenge" me.

I'm beginning to think the (over)reaction to 9/11 was worse than 9/11 itself.

Beginning? I've thought that the last 5 years.

Bad choice of words on my part - I've thought this for a while (and get reminded every time I go through the dignity-shredding that is airport security), but haven't really said much until recently. Yes, it's been clear for a while we've overreacted to 9/11.

Given the fact that the plane went down, the remains are now located, plus the fact that its likely that the black boxes will be recovered, all add up to say that speculation is useless now and we will know ever so much more if the black boxes are recovered.

This. Some source (CNN.com, IIRC) had a story about a possible malfunction of the airspeed indicator being the culprit, causing the plane's autopilot to continually accelerate the aircraft to unsafe speeds, perhaps shearing the rudder. Apparently it's happened before and caused fatal crashes in these type planes. Certainly the black boxes will be able to shed some light on this theory.

Fucking jokes like you are the ones who give the government more power. Imaginary "safety" items, such as making babies take off their shoes in the airport and harassing people over a bottle of water is what it buys you.

Wow because millions are willing to give up thier freedoms for nothing more than some fairness and some substandard healthcare.

I would never give up my freedoms for the substandard health care provided by the vast majority of HMO's

Shit the ACLU are American Terrorist as far as I am concerned. They just bully legally. Just watch the terror on the face of anyone that has just been notified the ACLU is after them.

Don't worry the Terror watch list now includes anyone that does not like to pay too much tax or likes to shoot a gun.

Let me know when your balls drop. That is, if you even have a pair of raisins to drop into that tiny, constricted, sack of yours.

I pick govt. Probably just landed on that list for saying that.

Be afraid of the public's intolerance fr any terrorism, willing to accept authoritarian measures to 'protect us' when there's an attack.

Look at how it's assumed that Obama would absurdly be politically destroyed if there's an attack, with Bush and Cheney 'proven right' about something and Republicans returned.

That's a terrible political environment that pushes the government to do bad things to try to 'prevent an attack'.

Imagine if the public had no tolerance for murder and insisted it be practically eliminated - what steps would the government have to take to do that?

Want to do some good, sign up for the ACLU and encourage people to not lose their minds if there's an attack, to value their liberties, and to oppose the Cheney power grab.

This. Freaking asstards running for cover for fear the GD boogey man is gonna come get em and the lecherous politicians eagerly taking advantage of every bit of it. The Constitution died in the wake of 9/11 with an overwhelming amount of public support born of fear. Disgusting.

Nobody ever discussed eliminating private healthcare. Having a standard of care for everybody isn't a bad idea.

LOL! Hawaii tried having free health-care only for those who cant afford it, and...well....

http://www.breitbart.com/artic...3SBEUG0&show_article=1

"People who were already able to afford health care began to stop paying for it so they could get it for free," said Dr. Kenny Fink, the administrator for Med-QUEST

Anyone else remember the plans to blow up many airliners around the world at the same time? Brazil to Europe would be an odd terror target but what if *pure speculation* this was a test run that is setting the stage for a larger attack?

Hope they find the black box...

Why waste time with airliners, when there are buses? Have you ever been through strict security when entering a bus? No. It would be a simple matter to terrorize the fools by placing explosives on buses, and watching the foolish government react. If anything, more liberties would be sacrificed for the good of the nation. A smart terrorist would quickly realize that there are many places with little to no security that can be attacked. If I were a terrorist, my goal would be to slowly erode the liberties that the US is built on, and I would do this by causing the many fools in this country to panic, which will force the politicians to react. Everyone knows this.

What a Joke. I guess that why it is led by a gay radical. ACLU is nothing more than smart gay lawyers that turned into big bullies pushing their agenda. Which is twisting the constitution making it useful for them. They have some much power and unlimited resources that most people roll over when threatened by them.

Niave to think that the #1 purchaser of drugs/medical equipment in the U.S. will not force other companies to compete with them on a non-level playing field. Basically the slow destruction of what we actually like about healthcare. Well it is a distinct possibility.

Yeah right. You sure you don't work for Al Quaeda? I shudder at the thought of someone like you in power, then the terrorists would truly win.

But only if the bus goes under 50mph

Even if they don't find the black box, can't they test the debris of the airplane for residue from explosives?

So you'd be ok if they were hetero??

The ACLU pushes "their agenda" in litigation which primarily focuses on 1st amendment absolutism, which manifests in different ways. Did you know they sued on behalf of a citizen who was refused permission to view pro-gun websites at his local public library? The ACLU has over 500,000 members most of whom, believe it or not, are not gay, if that's your big concern. Maybe it's that they are a legal outfit and intellectuals disturb you, I don't know.

I don't agree with everything they prioritize, or every case they pursue, or every item on their agenda, but if the ACLU's "bullying" of those enacting discriminatory policies bugs you, don't discriminate and you'll have no problem with them.

There would be plenty of physical evidence if it were an explosion ...

Well, yeah. But they'd need to do more than that to determine if the evidence suggests the explosion occurred because of an explosive or because of an oxygen or fuel problem.

Laugh! google prayer in school. Tell me those kids were not discriminated against. I understand discriminating against Christians is tolerated and well lets put it bluntly encouraged. But don't tell me ACLU has a pure heart and no agenda. That is laughable.

Well how about this this one were the Executive Diriector which is openly gay and that is not a secret pleads that asking for sex in a public batroom is covered under free speech even if it offends, angers, or in my opinion possibly infringes on someone elses right to take a dump with out being hit on like a sicko like Sen Craig. really?

WTF does it matter if there are 500,000 members of the ACLU and most of them are not gay. Who cares. I'm quite sure you are correct. I don't care that people are gay. What they want to do in the privacy of their own home is theirs to do. Go for it big boys! What bothers me is that they are a legal outfit of liberal intellectuals with an axe to grind and a legal/financial means to do it. Why do they think they have to legitimize themselves? Sure they take some cases I might agree with but I cannot think of one and lets not be intellectually dishonest and say they do not have a Liberal slant. That would be just a flat out lie or your head is in the sand.

I have seen so much worse and incendiary OPINIONS about presidents and other public figures. Why can't I call the Executive director a radical? I could call him much worse but I choose not to. It even says on their website They defend Gay men.

Or lets look at ACLU and NAMBLA!

The ACLU is a supporter of NAMBLA, representing the organization in the civil case related to the aforementioned murder. The ACLU is representing NAMBLA PRO BONO. Their official position: ?In representing NAMBLA, the ACLU does not advocate sexual relationships between adults and children. What we do advocate is robust freedom of speech. This lawsuit strikes at the heart of freedom of speech. The defense of freedom of speech is most critical when the message is one most people find repulsive.? I am repulsed. Repulsed by the idea that my children may not be able to say ??one Nation, under God? in school some future day .. thanks to the ACLU .. but this disgusting, vile organization is supported due to freedom of speech?

hmm... just keep searching the data is out there.

It was planned out once 9/11 happened. The government took the opertunity offered by the attack and did a major power grab. It wasn't overreaction, it was designed. how do you think they had the patriot act so fast. It was sitting somewhere just waiting for an event such as 9/11.

And now that we have the Uber recession we do not want to waste that great opertunity for another power grab.
