What exactly did the Boston Police do that is deserving of congratulations? They let the second guy get away. They failed to search the boat, which would seem like an obvious place to search. And in the end they didn't even find the suspect #2. It was the home owner who found him and called the Police. In my opinion the Boston PD were horrendous.

1. you have no idea what actually occurred and how.

2. this was as much local police as the pentagon is mass. residents.

Horrendous really isn't fair. "Letting" someone get away is either a mistake or completely out of their hands, depending on the circumstances they encountered the suspect. "Failing" to search a boat can also either be a failure or a thing of timing.. in fact you might credit BPD's communications arm for alerting the community and making sure the resident was aware enough to search the boat.

Without all the facts I can't make a judgment, but I'd say the results seem to show the typical result of a professionally trained police force. I can't find a lot to criticize.

The LAPD and Dorner.. now THAT is horrendous. Almost perfectly horrendous because he was a guy they hired and trained. And hiding out a few feet away from their command HQ.

BPD got him alive

LAPD murdered Dorner

From CBS Los Angeles News replay of police transmission:

When they found out he was in the boat, they told the other police to clear the line of fire... they then lifted the tarp to fully expose the suspect... suspect stands up and waves both hands in the air... then cops tossed flash bang before apprehending the suspect... D:

Also police commissioner stated, when they went to investigate suspects' home, they found many more bombs completed and process of being made.. so obviously these guys were looking to create more carnage...

What drove these two guys over the deep end to want to harm people - hopefully we will know in a few days..

What about the last gun volley? I dont think this guy had all the info to be making a press briefing

wow feel sad for that moml
It may be my personal history coloring my perspective but Russian immigrant parents have an INCREDIBLE capacity for the denial of reality in my experience. I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who will not acknowledge the actions of other simply because it suits them.

There was a gun volley a few minutes after BPD lifted the lock down... When the lock down lifted the home owner went out side to get some fresh air when he notice blood on his boat and saw Suspect #2 inside, contacted police, and their was a volley.... the very last sounds were flash bangs before the cuffed the guy.

According to your join date you're at least 13, but judging by your post I'm not so sure.

Now that I am thinking about it. If hes a US citizen, it might be hard for the feds to use the terrorism charges under the Federal Penal Code. There might not be a death penalty eligible crime they can charge him with under Federal Law.

From http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/federal-laws-providing-death-penalty

Take your pick. There are quite few laws defining federal crimes that suspect 2 could be charged with and subject to the death penalty if found guilty.

18 U.S.C. 844(d), (f), (i) Death resulting from offenses involving transportation of explosives, destruction of government property, or destruction of property related to foreign or interstate commerce.

18 U.S.C. 1111 First-degree murder.

18 U.S.C. 1121 Murder of a State or local law enforcement official or other person aiding in a Federal investigation; murder of a State correctional officer.

18 U.S.C. 2332a Murder by the use of a weapon of mass destruction.

21 U.S.C. 848(e) Murder related to a continuing criminal enterprise or related murder of a Federal, State, or local law enforcement officer.

Am I the only one that's just a little bit surprised he made it through the night? He wasn't looking so great on those last few photos, and especially after having dealt with a wound for 12+ hours.

Mailbox vandalism is not a joke!
Violators can be fined up to $250,000 or imprisoned for up to three years for each act of vandalism.

Is this guy getting his miranda rights read? He became an American citizen last year. If not, why did the movie theater killing guy get them?

No, he's not because he's still considered a possible threat to public safety if he planted other bombs. The movie theatre guy - they were pretty sure he only rigged his own room.

For this guy they founds tons of already made explosives and explosives in progress.

That is so very awesome and I really hope the the young man can recover to a somewhat normal life! It is truly amazing that he is alive to even take that photo. The 'cowboy' is a hero for what he did to save this young man's life.
