why don't you get off of atot and go work for the fbi since you seem to know more about this case than the people who worked it. i'm sure you could make millions.
I'm just saying... the guy was caught 4 blocks from where he escaped on foot. 100's (1000's?) of police officers, door to door searching, and they overlooked the boat??

Thermal imagery is not xray vision.
When you look through a window, is that "xray vision"? Plastic like that used to shrink wrap a boat is fairly transparent in the infrared spectrum.

Live Interview with Police Commissioner regarding Suspect # 2:

Suspect Shot in the neck and in leg... when and time he was shot not sure, but in critical condition.

Suspects went low after Boston Marathon Bombing, but decided on Thursday to carry out more bombings when their pictures/videos were released by FBI.

It was reported that the boat and shed were inspected/searched and found to be clean. The homeowner later noticed blood and called the police. Looks like he somehow slid into the boat after it was searched.

Pretty rare to capture a person like this and they actually get hurt, but not critically. That's some good shootin', Tex!

Destructive device with murder. He's done from a federal perspective.

That doesn't always equate federal jurisdiction.

This case it does because a victim was a foreign national. So it falls under 18 USC § 2332f Bombings of places of public use, government facilities, public transportation systems and infrastructure facilities

Specifically
(b) Jurisdiction.— There is jurisdiction over the offenses in subsection (a) if—
(1) the offense takes place in the United States and—
(F) a victim is a national of another state or a stateless person;

And the police have clarified that they did indeed check those locations and they were clear. They were called back by the homeowner when he found the door to the shed open, and blood stains on the boat tarp.

Want to Monday morning quarterback some more? Seriously. It's disgusting.

And the police have clarified that they did indeed check those locations and they were clear.

...really?

I mean, I'm not saying they're lying...but don't you think that would be their response, independent of whether they actually did or not?

Yeah, wtf did the close down a whole city looking for 1 person. It was a total overkill but hell cops like to play cops and robbers and use all their high tech toys. When else would they get the chance to bring out all their toys.

Overkill? WTF?

Seriously, is there an ounce of rational thought in that statement, or just a whole lot of pent-up frustration coming out at cop-hatred?

Had this guy had a full bomb set-up strapped to himself, ready to blow up the surrounding houses (like the police originally believed), I can just IMAGINE the response you'd have if they didn't.

He just blew up a marathon, for god's sake. Now you're saying they tried too hard to get him?

Did you even think before you posted?

I haven't watched any feeds so I dunno what the boat looked like or if he was down in the cabin or whatnot. Just saying that he wouldn't necessarily be obvious on a thermal imagine when the bird is scanning a large area. I've used thermals plenty of times.

I see. So now we're going to call the cops liars so we can claim they are incompetent as well.

Well shit, let's just throw all intelligent thought out the window then. They're evil, they're cops, so they must lie and be incompetent. Where are the jokes about donuts?

Oh, and I absolutely HATE it when people create sentences like you just did. "No offense, but I'm saying <insert totally offensive statement here>".

Saying you're not calling them liars then turning around and suggesting that they're lieing.... nice.

There is no many fucked up reports for this thing it's not funny. Everyone trying to get the first scoop....it's hard to know what's real and what's bs.

This you find disgusting... everything else, the false accusations of innocent people and insane conspiracy theories gets a pass, but the expectation the cops find a half dead kid in a boat is disgusting.

I'm curious, where did you get that info? I'm not surprised there are conflicting reports. From Fox News:

"We are so grateful to bring justice and to bring closure to this case," Massachsetts State Police Col. Tim Alben said moments later, at a staging area set up down the block from the crime scene. "We have a suspect in custody."

Sources told Fox News the shed and the boat had been searched earlier, but a local man noticed a door to it had been opened, saw blood on the tarp and called police.

"It was a call from a resident of Watertown," Watertown Police Chief Edward Deveau said. "We got that call, and we got the guy."

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said Tsarnaev was in serious condition and was found "covered with blood." He did not come out from inside the boat willingly, despite the efforts of negotiators, Davis said.

Ok. Rewind. Re-read for comprehension. Did Dr. Pizza even talk about that? Did I mention it in responding to him? No? Ok then. Go away. I don't think you even read what you're responding to.

From CBS Los Angeles News replay of police transmission:

When they found out he was in the boat, they told the other police to clear the line of fire... they then lifted the tarp to fully expose the suspect... suspect stands up and waves both hands in the air... then cops tossed flash bang before apprehending the suspect... D:

Also police commissioner stated, when they went to investigate suspects' home, they found many more bombs completed and process of being made.. so obviously these guys were looking to create more carnage...

What drove these two guys over the deep end to want to harm people - hopefully we will know in a few days..

How is this a federal crime? Wouldn't it only be a federal crime if his crimes were perpetrated in 2+ states?

The FBI took it over within an hour or so of the explosion. They considered it an act of terrorism, I believe. One of their lessons learned from Oklahoma City when it took days for them to consider it a federal crime.

Can you please cite that? Like, an actual link? Before we go all Rodney-King?

I already made a fool of myself regarding this because I forgot about a victim being a foreign national(and apparently I was skimming the laws to quickly).

Yes they have jurisdiction. 18 USC 2332f (a)(1)(A) and 18 USC 2332f (b)(1)(F);

Basically they bombed a place of public use, with the intent to kill people, and one of their victims was a foreign student. The foreign student is the hook for federal jurisdiction under 2332(f). Rereading the statute, the brother being a LPR(thus a foreign national) also gives them a jurisdictional hook under USC 2332f (b)(1)(E).

They could get them under 2332a if they can prove interstate commerce was used to help carry out the crime. Which might be possible if the older brother did indeed leave the country for a time in 2012 and they could link that to the crime. I am not sure if his leaving the country has been confirmed. Part of me wants to say its made up because with an arrest for domestic violence he would have been detained upon reentry in to the United States and ordered removed(deported).
