Your wrong with that. I would do more than anyone here would do.

Someone on this thread is an EMS... he probably DONE something similar dozens if not HUNDREDs of times already...:colbert:

He was even correct in saying that girl in blue shirt died before they even put her on the stretcher (photo that the world saw people trying to save her)... that she probably passed instantly and felt no pain.

True hero!

No one here on anandtech would do the same.

I think you are wrong with this assessment.

People who would do something like this, aka Heroes, don't go around thumping their chest telling everyone that they are in fact a hero. They would let the action(s) speak louder than their words via a random forum post.

Trust me I hate when I'm right about such things. I'm not EMS but an ER nurse and either way yes I've seen far too many horrid injuries.

Did you see the article about this guy from 5 years ago? My god I feel SO bad for that guy!

I've heard some of his story, but hadn't seen that article. It's incredible that after enduring such personal loss and tragedy Mr. Arredondo was at the marathon to hand out American flags and then helped that young man stay alive after he suffered severe trauma. I wish I had half his strength.

The whole story, while a tragedy then, and an even greater tragedy now, has such a beauty to it that it gives you hope. That a man who lost his son and almost lost his own life to fire, lives on to save another human being.

he lost TWO sons. His other son committed suicide.
