what does that mean? tbh i havent been following the story very closely.

Last night a guy was in the wrong place at the wrong time. They mistook him for one of the suspects.

There were reports it was the owner of the carjacked Benz that the brother let go, but I dont know if that was ever confirmed or made up internet bullshit.

Yes, gross incompetence should be ignored as long as they don't bungle the situation even more. 😀

I'm sure you would have done a far better job. Let us know when you're in a similar situation so we can rate your performance. Jackass.

On another, related, less asshole-ish note, I'm glad the people suffering from the bombings will see an end to this thing. Certainly better than it would have been if they hadn't had caught him.

That is a massive amount of law enforcement.

I'm glad it ended the way it did, but wow, 2 kids place 2 small bombs and it probably cost the taxpayers millions of dollars.

1st, congrats to law enforcement for catching #2.

2nd, wtf?! Incompetence all around. (I won't even mention the media) The suspect was on foot. The suspect had been bleeding. Ever hear of a tracking dog? One of our local officers has tracked people with her shepherd for miles. Suspect #2 made it 4 blocks and it took them 12 hours to find him??

edit: seriously. Helicopters with heat seeking equipment, etc. A freaking trained police dog could have found him in minutes.

You know Boston's too sophisticated for something so simple and potentially effective as using a dog to track someone. Only hicksville police use that technique...and quite effectively, too.

so the incorrect suspect was naked? or the real suspect? why was there a guy naked!

Why? He is a US citizen who preformed crimes on US soul. Following laws is one reason we are better than them.

Even if he wasn't naturalized there would be no legal way for the US Govt to send him to Gitmo or never try him. If you are caught on US soil you are tried in US courts of law. There is no way around it.

Odds are if he lives through his injuries. He will get the federal death penalty and it will be at least a decade before its carried out. In the mean time he'd be placed in solitary confinement. He'll be treated the same way McVeigh was.

Who cares? They got him alive and no one else died. Job well done!

I think every taxpayer should care. A fortune was spent on a manhunt that could have been finished in an hour, including the time to bring a dog to the scene. People were removed from their houses, house by house while SWAT teams searched their houses. That was 100% avoidable by simply bringing in a tracking dog. Basically, the search was completely incompetent, especially if true that the evidence he was in the boat was found by a resident after the residents were told they could come out now.
