I honestly think there are just some sick fucks out there that enjoy this shit. They will claim religion or the retaking of land or whatever to justify it. In the end they are just sick twisted fucks that need to be locked up or dead. There is no reasoning with their kind.

Careful now, you will get an infraction for speculating on who might have done this.

One of our local radio stations posted this question to Facebook (and asked it on air):

Sick bastards
Bob and the showgram 😀 its not sick, theyre just curious
Yes, they were apparently way the hell off, and I'm sorry I linked their stories yesterday.
yeah, wayyyy off
They're 50% tabloid, so they're probably posting things they see on Twitter or from unverified sources, hoping they get a scoop.
they want more views. more views = more money

FOX NEWS reporting bombs were made in pressure cookers packed with ball bearings. Not particularly professional. Also saying this type of bomb was first seen in Afghanistan.

I'm interested in if these were hydrogen peroxide based bombs as that is somewhat of an al qaeda hallmark. If they are gunpowder based I'd think probably some homegrown terrorist.

Just to keep the facts straight.

Governor Deval Patrick apparently spoke today and said there were only the two bombs that exploded and that there were no other bombs found.

Is this correct?

Correct, that is what has been reported.

I'm not taking that as even remotely confirmed.

The huge amount of wrong info that has been on the net and tv has been staggering. From more bombs found to the JFK "bomb".

And Fox News has been at the front of putting out wrong info. The only info I have read that the bombs contained shrapnel were reports a doctor or doctors at the hospital found foreign objects in the wounds. They could have come from the surroundings, so I have a wait and see on this.

Okay, here are some more sources for you.

CBS is also reporting it, as is the New York Times.

Yep. Not difficult at all really.

I've been thinking if it WAS cell phones triggered that would explain the 10-14 seconds between them.

i don't understand this - i heard the police chief in a press conference yesterday say there was another controlled explosion, and that there was another one at the jfk library. how can the police chief get this stuff wrong? and i heard the actual police chief speaking, it wasn't reported 2nd hand. i heard him say it.

nyt article mentions it in the 4th paragraph.

He isn't necessarily wrong. A suspicious package would probably be detonated in some sort of blast container just to be safe. Analysis of debris or maybe pressure or something could determine later that it wasn't actually a bomb.

Without dismissing the claim of BB and pressure cookers -

Those aren't additional "sources". They are clearly all reporting the same info, possibly from another. Reposting does not make a claim more valid.

Let's have a little more patience and wait until the people in charge are more "at liberty" to disclose info.

edit : spelling

i was referring more to the fact that now the governor is saying there were only 2 explosions when the police chief yesterday said there were 2 at the race and 1 at jfk library.

I bet at this point, most news agencies are just taking info from the people on the streets without checking it. If they ask you to share your story with them on their website, they probably have someone gathering all of this info to be regurgitated in a story. I already know of some people that actively post bullshit "1st hand account" stories on a few of the sites to see if it actually gets reported on. During large storms it's hilarious what they will report without checking.

Also, the emotions run rampant when something like this occurs, there could have just been a regular alarm drop for some odd reason at the JFK library and immedietely everyone starts thinking the worst. We had that in our town after Sandy Hook, every disturbance in a commercial building was considered a possible shooting until it was fully investigated.

No.

The fire at the JFK Library was always only a coincidence. I did not see anyone report that as another bomb, not even minutes after the blasts. Especially no from an official source.

it's obvious that the left hand has no idea what the right is doing, and it's compounded by news agencies simply making shit up. this city's leaders proved inept and corrupt when attacked by lite-brites, and are baffled and paralyzed when under real attack. 4 bombs, 5 bombs, 2 bombs....whatever.

fwiw, my cable internet croaked an hour after the attack. there's nothing the cable company hates more than someone trying to use what they paid for.

It was originally reported as a related explosion. The Boston Police Chief actually said that originally.

Back in the days before the internet... journalists and news organization would have time to verify before publishing it in a paper/article for the next day...

Now its whom ever gets it first to post on the internet with SEOs to get the most hits or views... they would try to get the most views/hits first then later post a retraction or correction with a little note stating their error...

Like the 8 year old boy that died... it now has been confirmed that his dad was not running the marathon, but the whole family was there to cheer on their friends - his mom is having surgery for brain injuries, his younger sister lost a leg, and the dad was not hurt...

yes. if there is such inconsistencies between people who are actually involved such as the chief and governor, i can understand why there is inconsistencies in the media reporting it.
