seeing as the car stopped over top of them im just going to assume she tried to stop
it was 3 in the morning even going only 30 mph, which is pretty slow in town speed, see something in the road + realizing it was people + stopping beofre them most likely was impossiable
Sorry, but there is NO way this isn't reckless driving.
If she couldn't stop or swerve in time to avoid two PEOPLE lying in the street, then she was simply NOT safely in control of her vehicle.
WHAT about this can you not understand?
Sure there is.
Did you see the situation? A driver cannot reasonably expect that there will be pedestrians LYING DOWN on a road.
Did you see how the light was? Did you see if they were under a blanket and obscured? Did you see any of the terrain or other obstacles in the area whicih may have prevented the driver from seeing them quickly enough?
Perhaps you should try to understand a situation before commenting on it as an ignorant online bystander.
Maybe...just maybe, local law enforcement just MIGHT be a bit better equipped to handle the situation, vs. yourself....I dunno maybe because you're on the OTHER SIDE OF THE FREAKIN COUNTRY?
Geez.
You shouldn't be driving at a speed that prevents you from being able to stop or avoid an object that appears in your headlights if there are no streetlights to illuminate the road. Human beings are not the only thing that might be in the road. The only detail that matters is that she ran over a large object in the road, which should never happen.
in driving school i was tought to apply the break just run over anything that is smaller then a deer thats not human, its safer then swerving
if it was a black/dark blue blanket even with head lights on going 30 she wouldent have seen it in time to totally stop, which it seems happened
yeap same.
we were taught if its smaller then a deer , say a dog or something. then just hold on and stay in your lane. Its far safer then trying to slam ont he breaks and swerving.
Why would one have to swerve and slam on their brakes in this situation? A large blanket should be able to be seen even by grandma moses if she was driving properly for conditions.
