Two 15 year old kids fall asleep in street while stargazing. They were lying on or under a blanket. A car ran them over early in the morning. The word was on KGO radio last Saturday that the driver may be guilty, because pedestrians always have the right of way.

Danville California Teens Run Over While Lying In Street
DANVILLE (BCN) ? Two Danville teens were apparently admiring a starry night when they fell asleep in the middle of a road and were accidentally run over early Friday morning by a newspaper delivery driver, police reported.
Interviewed by police at an East Bay hospital Friday, the two recovering 15-year-old boys said they were "laying down, stargazing and then fell asleep," according to Danville police Sgt. Phillip Wisotsky. "That's their statement," he said.
At about 3:25 a.m. a woman delivering newspapers in her car turned onto Ashland Court and ran over the two boys, who had set down blankets in the middle of the street, according to police.
The woman apparently did not see the boys, who live in the neighborhood, Wisotsky said. She was interviewed and released from the scene.
The boys were trapped between the front and rear wheels beneath the vehicle's undercarriage, according to police. The car was not crushing the boys, and fire crews responded to remove the car.
Both teens were conscious and talking before being transported to John Muir Medical Center.
They both suffered bruises and contusions, and one had a punctured lung, an injured spleen and third-degree burns believed caused by the undercarriage of the car, Wisotsky said. Their injuries are not considered life threatening, he said.
As to why they chose the middle of the street, instead of a nearby yard, Wisotsky said, "They didn't clarify that."
According to Wisotsky, alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been involved, and an investigation continues.
"I don't anticipate any criminal charges (against the boys)," Wisotsky said. "There may be traffic citations issued" to one or both teens "as far as their responsibility for causing the accident," he said.
