this card is completing with 7950. nice

i wonder if the 650ti will beat 7870

I thought if the bus size was 192 then it would be limited to 1.5 GB memory. The review shows 2 GB.

So same shaders as gtx670 just smaller bus. Should be fine for 1080p and depends on pricing, will be a great mid-range buy.

I thought the leak spec had 1152 shaders and 192 bit bus, that would be crippled.

But TT and their games list... ew.

Wait, on second look, at the AA and AF on (lol does AF even impact gpus anymore?)

Looks like the smaller bus dislike AA, so crippled vs gtx670... and competing vs.. a sapphire 7850 OC which runs at 920mhz core.

They refer to to the card as filling in the mid-$200 range. If these are available for under $300, I'll buy away.

This looks like a great sub-$300 card. Especially good if you can snag a rebate and get for <$250.

Great performance and will be a GREAT card for 1080P mainstream resolutions.

Has anyone ever asked TT to justify the selection of their games list ?
So many benchmarks and only one (Metro 2033) is of any use.

Based purely on OC results from the 670 and 680, it seems to reason a 10-20% OC should be attainable based on the 915mhz stock speed.

Similarly with the 670/680, and maybe even more important here, whatever OC can be gained on the memory should be a huge help as well.

No, no it does not look like a great sub 300 card.. there's the 7850 at low 200s that would spank it hard with a mild OC. Unless u game with no AA, it looks too crippled to compete honestly.

24 ROPs vs. 32 as well. It's crippled in all 3 areas: SPs, ROPs and memory bandwidth. The performance falls off huge with AA.

I missed that, 24 ROPS... ouch. It's like they don't want you to play with AA at all.

If this is the 660ti, the 660 will have to be $200 or less.

ps. Would be funny if it uses more power than the 78xx (it probably does).

Way off-base here.

This card beats the 7870 handily in very benchmark in the review. The 7850 is slower still. I agree that the 7850 is a great overclocker, but this card blows the 7850 out of the water stock.

It actually looks better for 1080P or less than the 7950 stock as well, using almost 100w less power at load, presumably (based on TDP).

Did you miss the AA ON in that review?? Look again. Also note out of all those games, only metro and AvP is stressing the card and the rest such as FC2, JC2 etc etc are so ancient its pointless to include them, but its TT.

TT uses games from 3 years ago, and physx games at that. Awaiting a real review, not from TT.

So when aa is used, its as fast as a 7850 and when it is not,its nearly as fast as a 7950.....

Which makes perfect sense, given that its got the same shader count as the gtx670, with turbo probably taking it to the same clock speeds. Without stressing the submemory system, it should perform similar to a gtx670. You only see its weakness when you stress it with AA and/or higher resolutions.

No, the benchmarks you read are with AA OFF. The key page is Page 13. Turn on AA and this card loses to GTX580 and is much slower to an 800mhz HD7950 in Metro 2033, AvP and Mafia II. D:

A factory pre-overclocked 7950 will beat this and a 1.1ghz+ 7950 will face plant this card.

So much hype for GTX660Ti!!!!! and NV cripples it badly. Let's see HD7950 is basically a 7970 with 32 ROP / 384-bit 3GB setup. Those ROPs and memory bandwidth are critical for your AA/high quality image settings. GTX660Ti is 24 ROP, 192-bit version of the 32 / 256-bit GK104. It doesn't take a lot of complex mathematics to see that NV delivered a very crippled card here at the rumoured $300 price level while AMD is selling a slightly detuned 7970 (112 TMUs / 1792 SPs) with a huge factory underclock.

The anti-aliasing performance is horrible. This is not really a surprise as the GTX 680 has poor anti aliasing performance relative to the GTX 580 when you compare it to past new generation cards.

Would like to see an actual review though as tweaktown uses a really crappy suite of game benchmarks and little to no transparency on how they benchmark.

The card will probably fall flat in Crysis, Metro, Skyrim w/AA, BF3 w/AA etc.

Will be a decent card for $200 though.

Would it just be safe to say this card competes only with the 7850 as most gamers will be using aa?

I keep wanting to say different things but i am speechless between the non aa results and watching it tank with aa enabled, still not sure what to make of this one yet.

Unless priced at 7850 msrp,it will not be a fan favorite.
