Actually, I forgot a few things, like the 4080. About $5000-$5500.

I hope you swap that out for a R9700 32GB to make it an all AMD build in future.

Or pair it up with the Intel ARC dual GPU 48GB for giggles.

OK, the 9755 will not post. First step, take out the 4080 and try off the inboard video ?

Yes, I guess.

Try with minimum RAM sticks?
Before I do, I have to replace the ram with some 4800 from somewhere. I found this in the users manual (worse compatibility than the H13-ssl-n motherboard, )

OK< I had to change out the CPU and get a new one from a difference source, as the one above would not post. This one is a 1535-05 and was $2100 ! But its alive ! Only running at 4800 ran, but its working !

You can do a 7-zip benchmark test if you want. One of the few benchmarks (other than probably CPU-Z) that will use all the cores and return a quick result, instead of waiting ten minutes for Cinebench.

Any reliable windows tool to report total wattage used by the computer ? Or even just the CPU ?

  1. HWMonitor says 460-480 watts ! Its running all 128 cores pretty much at 100% and avx-512 which is the most stressful. Really impressed with the arctic cooler that keeps it at 65c with this load.

Probably need to set PCIe slot as the primary display in BIOS instead of the sad 2D onboard chip.
I guess I don't know why I did not have to do that with the other 9755. Also, having a USB issue. I does not work on some sockets, and on one it worked for a couple of keystrokes, then stopped. But I am running primegrid on it, and the CPU seems fine.

Oh, and here is a wild one. I changed the video cable of the kvm from DVIE to dosplay port, and it works on the KVM, but now it has 2 displays and I can figure out how to make the screens copies, instead of the displayport is all black. but the remote control from this computer is working fine.

Oh, and the screen above using primegrid running, has simulated SMT disabled, so it can to pinning with lasso. 16 jobs with 8 CPUs each is 128.

dowcnlocked speed to 2.3 due to vrm temps. I need bigger vrm heatsinks, can't find them.

Temps on the new one.

Not an expert but how about stacking extra heatsinks on top of existing ones with thermal paste in between?

Anyone else who knows better should jump in before Markfw takes my bad advice :)

well, I can say that the existing heatsinks are a joke for a 500 watt CPU. I need to somehow increase their size or effectiveness.
