The left is the aftermarket one I'm going to install, the right is the factory one.

Oh wow that stock one is tiny then. That aftermarket one is much better.

I'll be looking at my dodge diesel intercooler more closely now, thank you. I'm running about 32 PSI into it.

Yikes.

Man I thought the stock WRX TMIC was small, that thing is tinyyyy......

Glad they took care of you though, since there was a tsb guess they couldn't try to screw you.

Looks bigger than the stock WRX intercooler to me. Besides, FMIC >>>>>>>>>> TMIC any day.

Yeah, but you saying there would not be need for a wastegate made no sense to me. How would an overall decrease in efficiency created by an intercooler cause it to not need to remove excess air?

At speed mine can get within 5-10 degrees on a nice day, but as I slow back down from speed the efficiency obviously goes way down. If it's hot outside it can't get close though. I'm piecing together a meth kit to go on when I get back as well. Will run a 50/50 meth water mix activated at 10psi and at full pressure by 18psi.

FYI, I know several people who run meth on STI's, half love it, half hate it. The engine builders that I have spoken to with respect to very large engine builds very much discourage meth, they claim it washes the oil off the cylinder walls and causes a lot of premature wear. Besides, most tuners wont tune for power on meth, and use it as a safety factor, since a meth failure would blow the motor. Same reason you really really do not want to run dual fuel pumps.
