just because they're not 100 feet high doesnt mean its not strong enough. water has a tremendour amount of power, no matter how high the water, especially water thats travelling at 100+ mph.
I'm sure there's at least 1 security camera that caught the "big one" coming in. I remember seeing a Discovery Channel show about tidal waves and they had footage from an Hawaiian tidal wave that reached the top of a 10+ story building and wiped it out.
