trying to loose weight

So recently I've decided that I want to loose a few pounds. I'm not that overweight, I just want to be able to get rid of a bit of weight.

I was almost 200 6 months ago, since then i've been doing more physical activity and I want down to 180. A summer of drinking and parties got me back up to 185.

I'm 16, and I was curious as to what activities you giys do to keep in shape. About a week ago I started doing daily walks of ~2.5 kilometeres. The only other thing is that I might be getting a dance dance revoultion game soon. I'm not a huge gamer, but I love this game and I think it will be a pretty good workout 🙂

any suggestions or comments?
 
ummm losing 30 pounds at 6ft tall? and already 180 lbs? Do you wanna look emaciated?

Just focus on keeping your lean muscle mass. You shouldnt have to loose much more if any weight.
 
If you want to lose weight while working out then get your heart rate up. Keep it around 140-150 for 20 minutes sustained a day and you'll drop weight fast. Try jogging instead of walking.

Hey! I'm 6'2", 160lbs, and I don't look emaciated. Just...skinny. But I bet I could out-hike or out-climb you any day of the week😛

Well I bet you could too! I'm 6ft 200lbs BTW, my job requires me to be on my feet all day which means i walk to the tune of anywhere from 4-6 miles during a given 8 or 12 hour shift...and I bike on the side. I only say emaciated because i know someone who is 6'2 160 lbs and he's just.....bones and it's yuck cuz he has no muscle
 
You're not overweight. What you are is YOUNG and at the best point in your life to put on muscle mass thanks to out of control testosterone production. Hit the gym and keep eating. Lift weights, and keep cardio to a minimum.
 
Are you crazy??? I'm 5'9 and 165. I thought I was overweight. I'm down to 155. Down to 150 would be nice...

180 is fine. Just burn off that fat and turn it into muscle...
 
Ummm, 6'1" and you want to be 155 lb? Barf. I was 170 and kinda flabby at 6', so I started working out and gained a shiatload of muscle, now I'm 200lb. Now that I have a nice amount of muscle, I'm easing on the gaining and want to start cutting the bodyfat only while still lifting heavy. I'm around 13-14% bodyfat, which isn't fat IMO with that much muscle. 15% is what you would call "normal."
 
For how tall you are, you should be lifting weights rather than trying to lose weight. The muscle will take the place of the fat and you won't look like a tall skinny kid....you'll look like a tall strong man.
 
If you're chubby at 6'1", 185, it's because you don't have an ounce of muscle on you and every pound past the weight of skin & bones is fat. Go to a gym.

It's been done this year already. Im gonna try to put on another 10lbs. Im a borderline substance abuser. 😛



And to the OP, if you lose any more weight, your gonna look like Nicole Ritchie.
