I'm 16, and I was curious as to what activities you giys do to keep in shape. About a week ago I started doing daily walks of ~2.5 kilometeres. The only other thing is that I might be getting a dance dance revoultion game soon. I'm not a huge gamer, but I love this game and I think it will be a pretty good workout :)

any suggestions or comments?

what is up with all these teenagers trying to be REAL small at young ages. The goal is to look one of two ways. Fit (skinny and toned muscle mass) or muscular (larger, but more defined and ripped muscles). Pick which one you want and shoot for it. Dont shoot for "I am 6'0 and want to weigh 120lbs". If you want to work out and have a goal, shoot for health and being fit. Eat a normal intake and keep it healthy while you work out. If you want more body weight/muscle mass, eat more protein and lift more than you cardio.

all these young kids trying to be some skinny punk rock kid is pissing me off

12 lbs in 45 days? Unless your doing roids it will mostly be fat.

It's been done this year already. Im gonna try to put on another 10lbs. Im a borderline substance abuser. :p

Well you will have to eat like a pig to gain that much in 45 days and most of that will be fat, well at least if you do it naturally. I've no experience using Steroids, HGH or any of that crap so I don't know how possible it would be to gain that much muscle in such a short time.

You're 16... Don't worry about it. You can lose all the weight you want, but you will gain it all back when you are in your 20s and 30s.

*EDIT*
BTW 6'0" and 195 lbs.

DDR is an awesome workout. My best friend's mom actually bought it for her overweight daughter to get in shape, but we ended up playing it instead.

lol i am 6 feet 2 inches and i was liek 238 for a while, but i am in gym 5 days a week so i am far from being fat, still i decided to loose about 30lbs for leaner look, so far about a month and 8lbs are gone, i also play tennis everyday and try not to eat crap...i used to be about 168 and 6ft at one point but i was waaay to skinny even though i was like 17 so my mom took me to doc to see if i was ok...basically don't set ideal weight in mind, i won't stop until i see my sixpack but it might not take me another 20 lbs, if you like the way you look, weight is only a number...

I eat and pop pills like it's a 2nd full time job. 12lbs of solid muscle is quite an unattainable goal to reach in less than two months, and I'll probably only gain a good 5lbs. Setting my goals a bit higher makes me work a bit harder.

Losing weight is simple if you can stick to it.
And don't listen to everyone here about how you are stupid for wanting to lose weight. It's your body, and you know how you would like it to look.
Cut and count calories. Find out how many calories you take in per day. Shave 500 off of that. Stick to it. Don't cheat.
Let's say you take in 2000 calories a day. Count up to 1500 calories a day, then take in no more.
Try to eat more than 3 big meals per day. Bump it up to 5 smaller meals.
Cut sugar to a minimum. No cookies, or cakes or ice cream. No more cokes sugary drinks. Sugar is baaaad.
Try not to eat alot of carbs at night.
Snacks are fine at night, just lots of sugar and carbs are bad.
When I was loosing weight, I would snack on Natural peanutbutter and egg whites. Yeah, sounds nasty, I know. But it worked.
And then there is cardio. Cardio will help you burn fat alot faster. But also a small amount of muscle.
But you will need cardio. Jogging is what I like to do. 30 minutes +.
Oh and drink plenty of water.

I'm 6'2" 190, and in perfect condition. If anything you should want to work out and gain some muscle mass, not lose weight.

don't worry about your weight, since it's not that out of line. it sounds like what you really want is to turn your belly into some muscle (and that won't change your weight much, but you'll look and feel a lot better).

Dude, you're right on target. Build some muscle if you want to trim up. At your height you should be between 150-190lbs (depending on your frame).

Like most people have said in this thread: Definately hit the weights. Do that for a year, pack on some muscle, then after you can cut down.

And by the way it is LOSE not LOOSE. WTF has caused people in the last few years to not understand this concept?
