Yup, we'll see how long this lasts but I'm at least gonna try for it.

So, I don't know where to start and what to eat, etc... I'm male, 23, 6'5", 330. I don' look fat...tall, broad shoulders, so I'm just a big guy. All I'm really looking to do is tone up, get some definition. I'm not looking to have huge muscles but I want to look cut. That's what I'm after but as I said, I don't know where to start.

Anyone have any resources to look at or guides to examine? Tips, suggestions, magazines, websites, dieting, whatever... Any help would be appreciated or else I'll just run and work-out.

Thanks

Don't "diet", just cut back on the carbs mainly, and also cut back on the calories in general.

Best thing to do is also exercise. Work cardio vascular, and the MAJOR muscle groups. Larger muscles take more energy to use, hence more calories being burned. The larger muscle groups are the legs, so walking, jogging, swimming while using fins and a kickboard is also useful.

Got any pics yakko? I'm curious to see what that does to you :)

THe only certainty is exercise. Run to shed some of the fat, work out to harden up the lean. Stick to something good like that and your eating habits probably won't even matter... a better diet just makes the exercise results easier and quicker.

Eat fresh raw fruits and vegetables. Cut out empty calories (sugar and sugar substitutes), hydrogenated fats and processed foods. Drink lots of pure water.

Exercise regularly. Get sufficient sleep.

Good health to you!

You could always become a night stocker. I hear most lose weight. Heck Ive lost 50 lbs in 4 months. But thats also with lifting weights. You will be to tired to eat, in most cases, or just not want to eat much. On your feet 8-12 straight hours doing anything from running, to heavy lifting burns ALOT of calories. Your diet will change a great deal, and you will end up drinking alot more water. Bad thing is, you will be paid dirt cheap, think of it as bewing paid to exercise.

Also you may not look fat, but at 330 you could probably lose a few pounds. If you want to look, "cut" you will have to.

Kickboxing. I'm 5'11" 165lbs with very little body fat and great definition. You burn tons of calories, so you can eat whatever you want anytime you want, and your stress level is zero because you take it all out on the heavy bags.

Don't eat meat. If you must, eat it sparingly, and try to stay away from beef and pork. Fish is the best.

Don't drink milk/dairy products(eggs are Ok).

Don't drink pop/coffee, especially Diet.

Don't take any form of any drugs.

Eat as many RAW fruits and vegetables as you can. This is the key.

Raw nuts are good too.

Cooked food is dead food, and dead food isn't good for you. When you heat a food up passed 160F, It kills all enzymes in that food. That's what pasturizing food is, making it enzymically dead. Enzymes are the building blocks of life. We need them.

They're trying to make it legal to irradiate our food, before it's put on shelves. Enzymes are the food industry's worst enemy. They're what cause food to go bad, in most cases.

Eat nothing but fruit and vegetable based foods for a week, and I guarentee you, that you will feel so much better, you won't even believe it. I did.

Try to get Organic fruit and vegetables. It's worth it. If you can't, or don't want too, get a fruit/vegetable soap and wash them good.

<< your eating habits probably won't even matter >>

i beg to differ..

i'm 5'11" and 225lbs...i used to be more. and changing eating habits is the main reason i lost so much. the weight lifting helped undoubtedly, but saying your diet doesn't matter isn't right. if you are some kind of body builder with huge muscles (gross), then yeah you can eat pretty much anything...but for the common guy trying to lose weight, no. i stopped eating sugar all together, all junk food, all fast food, processed food, etc. just more natural type food now.

I'm 5'10 and 155lbs. I used to be 205 before I switched my diet. Very little meat, very, very little junkfood, no giant butter-laden meals, no fast food..

It's very simple actually. If you eat more calories than you burn on a daily basis.. You gain weight. If you eat less calories than you burn, you lose it. It's as simple as that.

Your diet means *everything* to your body. Absolutely everything. Almost all of the american population is defficent in vitamins and minerals. They suffer from malnutrition, and they don't even know it.

McDonalds is not food. It's empty calories.

Americans eat way too much protein. It's not good for us.

The SAD(Standard American Diet) consists of 80% acid-producing foods(when digested) and 20% alkaline producing foods. It should be the other way around, if not at least 50/50!.

The only thing that is alkaline to our system is plant matter(Note: a lot of cereal grains are acid-producing).

My recomendation, seriously, is to get one of those JuiceMan Juicers. Seriously. Who doesen't like juice? And you can drink juice of fruits/vegetables that you don't normally like when you mix them with others that you do.

Here's my breakfast:

8oz SoyMilk
8oz carrot juice
2 banannas
2 apples (Granny Smith are the most nutritious apples.. and my favorite{even before I learned that:)})
1 kiwi
Any other fruit I have around.. pears, strawberrys, peaches, oranges, nectarines, tangerines, anything..
2 tbsp expeller pressed flax seed oil

Blend that up in a blender, Oh my god! It's delicious.
