I just signed up. This deal is still alive. If you google "emusic 100" you can find the 100 tracks for free. I'm not going to post the url here because it is a referral link.

So far I've found some pretty cool music that I'd never heard of before.

I was with eMusic for 2mths and found only trance that i liked b4 unsubscribing. Not a lot of mainstream or known groups/artist. Any different now? It also seemed like they had a lot of imposters singing mainstream stuff...

It probably hasn't changed very much since your experience with it. There are a few mainstream artists, but not many. And if you find a mainstream artist, don't expect to find every cd. You will only find a small fraction of their work.

So far I'm happy with it because I'm interested in finding new music. I'm so sick of listening to the same old crap over and over. I don't expect to stay subscribed to it for very long.
