Is it illegal to set up the shell corporation? These things are done for money laundering, but usually that's because the source of the money is illegally obtained.

I'm not a pro but my understanding is that corporations have advantages for legitimate business use. In no universe outside the WH can hush money be seen as legit. I would think this would be embezzlement.

It would depend on where they money came from. If it came from the Trump Organization then it's probably fine, as it's solely owned by Trump so it's all his money. If it came from campaign funds or his fake charity or whatever then we're talking trouble.

Given Trump's penchant for using other people's money to pay for things I think this is an avenue worthy of some investigation.

This is just typical Donald Trump trash and I believe that the RNC already knew about much of it which is why they initially resisted him. Now the chickens are coming home to roost on their watch.

He reportedly liked to be spanked with a rolled up copy of forbes with him on the cover. While it might not be pee pee tape equivalent it sure is a funny and an unusual fetish.

I find this to be the most disturbing.

Who is it with the creepy avatar of trump grabbing some young girl that looks like ivanka? I haven't heard the back story on that picture.

Can anyone even imagine the conservative freak out had Obama been outed paying off porn stars to conceal an affair? I bet we would have been treated to all sorts of Very Concerned analysis about what this says about black culture.
Almost certainly there'd be a congressional investigation

By the way the commentator on this video is absolutely spot on. Neutral and extremely spot on

If it happened, why is everyone assuming Melania didn't know about it? Maybe he ran it by her. In any case, most people don't care about this kind of thing, including most of you. You'll just be haters.

Then why go to such lengths to hide it?

I suspect she knew. The book fire and fury had Bannon comments suggesting Trump had slept with and had hundreds of women paid off. Also there probably is an airtight prenup between Melania and Trump particularly given his past marriage history and their relationship is extremely strange.

I suspect she isn't exactly in a position of power in their relationship.

No, it isn't illegal to set up a shell company. There are millions of them out there.

I think it’s more about tax filings and keep in mind this happened before he ran. I’m not going to claim I’m an expert in this field but I’d guess plenty of wealthy folks do business this way with settlements

I'm not a criminal attorney but "hush money" is generally not illegal in-and-of itself. Non disclosure agreements are not uncommon nor are they illegal. (There are exceptions, such as paying money to someone to not report a crime or not testify against you).

This would not be embezzlement based upon the facts as we now know them. Embezzlement is a form of theft. So far there is no evidence of theft.

As far as "legit" goes I'm not sure what you're saying. However, it does not seem to be a legit business expense. Therefore she must report the payment as income for taxes, and because it is not a legit business expense Trump cannot deduct it.

Trump has certainly maintained the reason for withholding his income tax returns is IRS audit. If this in any way reduced his personal tax liability, that would be troublesome. He doesn't seem to be the type to concede anything. If he gets compelled to testify, that would put him in an awkward spot.

So you are admitting you try to lie and make false promises to women you're trying to cheat on your wife with?

I would speak for yourself and Donald.

Some of us have morals and respect for our wives.

Oh man. The magazine cover, the bragging/comparison to Ivanka. That's so Donald. I'm gonna have to ponder saying more about this, but hearing her story makes be feel bad for Donald.

Edit: still mulling, but perhaps I'll start with this -- I believe Donald Trump became president because he desperately wants to be a good one. And I don't mean a good one for rich people. I mean a good one for America.

Welllp, I'm goin' to haf'ta include "adulterous geezer pervert" on that list of things that Trump's supporters are going to have to awkwardly ignore about him.

The list has become long and distinguished like my...................spear gun.

It's going to be so much fun doing the "Oh yeah? WhataboutTrump and his ridiculous blah blah blah......" in defense of the next Democrat Prez. There's just so much heavy caliber ammunition there to fire off at the hypocrite Repubs once they home in on and start slamming the next Dem Prez.

Couple of thoughts...

During Monica news covered it 24x7 but for some reason the liberal (in the tank for Clinton) media is barely talking about it.

Where are the conservative mouths calling for Melania to leave her cheating husband?

Evangelicals only pretend to be real Christians when it's a Democrat sinning.

Any other time, they will explain how Jesus taught about the horrors of abortion and nothing else.

The Bible? Really just the rest of it's just filler. You can actually fit God's law on a 3x5 note card.

Sorta like that tax return form we were supposed to get.

Playing devils advocate here, you got to hand it to Donald Trump.
I know men around Trump's age and none of them have porn stars falling all over them.
For some old man in his 70's, this should give all men of younger years a lot of hope.
Especially men closing in on their 50's, 60's and 70's.
Most men feel suicidal as they approach their golden years.
This should give men hope.
And unlike Donald Trump, it is doubtful the presidency will be an issue for most men. So the buying silence part shouldn't be a problem.... for the rest of you.
If you're a senior citizen or soon to be, and any porn star takes a liking to you, I say just sit back and enjoy.
If I were a Donald Trump supporter I'd say to Donald, YOU GO GIRL.... ;)
I wouldn't pay for her silence, I'd pay her to get out there and tell all.
To tell the world he lasts all night, he's a stud, and that Brad Pitt doesn't have anything over Donald Trump.
Melania is the one needing a check here, not the porn star.
Melania needs to collect her fee to stay with this guy, and to not have to sleep with the orange obese grandpa.

Viagra and penis implants the future of younger men you mean? Doubt it was great sex she was paid to keep quite about.
