LONDON — Swedes reacted with confusion, anger and ridicule on Sunday to a vague remark by President Trump that suggested that something terrible had occurred in their country.

During a campaign-style rally on Saturday in Florida, Mr. Trump issued a sharp if discursive attack on refugee policies in Europe, ticking off a list of places that have been hit by terrorists.

“You look at what’s happening,” he told his supporters. “We’ve got to keep our country safe. You look at what’s happening in Germany, you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this?”

Not the Swedes.

Nothing particularly nefarious happened in Sweden on Friday — or Saturday, for that matter — and Swedes were left baffled.

“Sweden? Terror attack? What has he been smoking? Questions abound,” Carl Bildt, a former prime minister and foreign minister, wrote on Twitter...

Pointing out his madness is becoming akin to constantly saying water is wet, most everyone realizes it and the minority Trump drones don't care. They believe anything at this point. It's become a never ending farce. He lies constantly, more of what comes out of his mouth is false than true, and is not going to stop. Even FOX news personalities are calling them out now. That is how far gone from reality, decency and respect for democracy Trump has gone.
 
Are you sure it's not fake news that nothing happened? I heard that in Sweden when Islamic terrorist rape people they do not mention their religion because it's politically incorrect and might stir nationalistic anti other feelings turning Sweden into Nazi Germany, a fate we should all hope to avoid, no?

This gets ever more disturbing until what point? Do we impeach? Does Mattis arrest Trump for the scandal of the day and we get a military coup followed by a new election? That would be pretty sweet. I bet even Putin would be happy with that, in fact it might be his goal.




Reflexive control. It is how to think in the mind of your enemy. One must ask oneself: 'Has my opponent already anticipated my reaction to this event?', 'Has my opponent anticipated the fact that I anticipated his reflex, and thus must I add another degree of reflexive control to this equation?' These are the questions that Putin has asked himself, and his equations have likely anticipated the necessity for Trump's removal on competence grounds. He probably has planned for this outcome specifically.

More likely less than a year when we learn more about Russia running Trump. You post something from a year ago to back up Trump's comment about last night in Sweden. That's stupid.
