Trump Will Win Re-election for 2020 (Personal Prediction)

Far too close. We have a republican friend who kept telling us Trump is going to win reelection and I never took that argument seriously. Now, my friend's prediction may not come true, but if I'm being honest with myself, he was right and I was wrong. It is really depressing to think about, but if it wasn't for the dreadful handling of coronavirus and ensuing economic calamity Trump would have absolutely won the reelection.
We also shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that by the time all is said and done he will likely lose the popular vote by around 5 points, maybe more.

So while he was right that the results are closer than many people expected, myself included, that’s in large part because the system is simply rigged in his favor.

Look at all of the gerrymandering his crew was up to in the months before the election to cheat his way to victory. Right now in Miami Dade Post Offices there are piles of mail that also include ballots. He has moved the low bar so low that Nixon is up for sainthood.

I think those of us who went into 2020 thinking it would be like 2018 but even more amped up for Dems forgot about one thing--Trump was actually on the ballot this time.

We viewed Trump as a liability for GOP votes due to our own biases--in reality Trump being on the ballot increased turnout amongst low-propensity voters (for lack of a better term, the uneducated white trash who wouldn't care about a midterm election.) They voted straight ticket "R" and wouldn't even think to consider down ballot Dems.

Trump may have turned off conservative Never Trumpers and independents, but they could simply vote for Biden at the top and then for any Republicans they wanted down the ballot.

The Dem turnout machine worked. The polls generally had things right with likely voters. But they didn't capture "unlikely" voters who've become Trump cultists and didn't adequately model increased GOP turnout compared with '18.

Did you really think Trump would win or were you attention hounding? Back when you first posted I offered you something we don't allow publicly here which you did not respond.

I hope we can move past the presidential race soon. The election is in overtime and we need to kick overtime off in full gear.

The Senate majority is at stake in Jan.

I am also ready to put a few hundreds for the campaign.
Let's send the turtle back to trailertucky!

This aged well...

Should have been a damn tsunami, but as long as it gets the Russian asset out I'm happy. Also:

I completely agree! After Trump and the GOP's dismal performance I would've thought that the whole country would've turned blue on election night but alas change still comes. Next time we need to send an even stronger message to the deplorables!

Well I wonder what the next Trump rally will look like. I mean, he did say he "WON BY A LOT" didn't he? So I'm waiting for either another one of his rallies or his acceptance speech that, given how skilled his campaign staff is, will be held in front of the Beverly Waldorf Hilton Trailer Park, Kalawao County, Molokai, USA or some as yet to be scheduled venue in Moscow, Idaho.

That would be effin hilarious if he tries to flee to actual Moscow but ends up in Idaho. 😀

Was it? ... I'm not sure this was the blue wave the Dems were looking for - I think the D’s were hoping/expecting a blue landslide that decisively repudiates Trump and Trump-ism once and for all. I'm happy with getting Trump out. If anything, this election has actually vindicated Trumpism to a certain extent. it showed that the polls were wrong just as he and his supporters insisted, and that Trumpism remains strong despite a pandemic, recession, thousands of lies, corruption, scandals, law breaking, insults and an impeachment. Republicans also appear likely to hold the Senate. And gained in the House. Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, Devin Nunes, Kevin McCarthy, Louie Gohmert - the whole slimy lot of them got re-elected. Trumpism wasn’t repudiated. Roughly half the country still loves him and wants more

This shows just how effective foreign and local consipracy/fake news operators have been in disrupting both our political system and how we think as a people. They have sown anger and doubt, and driven wedges where few existed. There can be no other explanation. If you keep telling a group of people that they’re being treated unfairly, they begin to believe it and react accordingly. Millions of Americans have NO idea that Donald Trump is a laughingstock for most of the world, that he owes hundreds of millions of dollars to unknown foreign creditors, that he’s likely to be indicted by New York as soon as he leaves office, that he’s winked at Putin’s bounties on American soldiers, or any of the rest of it. 60 or 70 million Americans will go on believing that Donald Trump is a smart, competent, decent man -- because they will never encounter a single piece of information that would tell them otherwise. Rupert Murdoch may well go down in history as the man who made China the world’s new superpower. I wonder if he’s proud of that?

Biden just eked out a victory. I'm assuming someone named "Trump 2024" “ talk will start immediately. Like it or not the Trumps are now a political power, and if it’s not Donald himself it wouldn’t surprise me to see another Trump or Trump-in-law on the ticket in 2024. Trumpism in general has become compatible with the US political system as in just the way Republicans/conservatives want it to be. Only Democrats are actually expected to do any work, reach out to opponents, and make any compromises when it comes to “coming together and moving forward as one nation”. This election confirmed that the US conservative movement and the Republican Party are willing supporters of crooks, liars, and malicious anti-democracy governance-sabotaging authoritarians.
