At this moment I'm really wondering if a lot of those working class folks that voted for Trump really understood the gravity of their decision, or if they really care that they got made fools of by a practiced and experienced con man that is going to work against their best interests to the best of his ability for a whole four years?

I can't wait for these four years to end so I can bear witness to how Trump is going to convince these very same folks that ripping them off was what they asked for, so what's the problem?

I'm afraid that the same egregious lies he's used to get elected are going to get him re-elected because from what I've seen of this last election, it's the person who can attract the most attention to themselves by telling the most blatant fear mongering lies in the most convincing fashion that's going to get the win.

I thought Bush, Cheney and Rove were masters of this art, but Trump made these guys look like a kid trying to raid mommy's secret stash in the cookie jar.

I used to be amazed driving across western Kansas at the fields and the irrigation systems. Now I just cringe.

Timothy Egan's "The Worst Hard Time" about the Dust Bowl is a really good read if you want to know about life during a drought in the Great Plains before drilling for water was a thing.

To be fair, I think a lot of people realize the importance of the aquifer remaining sustainable. There are clearly still a lot of people who don't, though, which is probably how someone like Pruitt gets elected in a state whose long-term sustainability depends on water rather than oil and gas.

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/07/trum...on-to-lead-small-business-administration.html

LMFAO!!! The swamp just keeps filling up with billionaires!!! Linda McMahon to head the Small Business Administration... The diversity in the swamp is very, very impressive... the low information DERPS just got a little DERPIER...
it's worth noting that the McMahons were the largest individual donors to Trump's unlicensed charity (the one that journalists could find no records of charitable expenditures for other than paying Trump's legal bills, various personal expenses, and funding James O'Keefe)

I would love, love to see the GOP reaction if President-elect Hillary appointed the Clinton Foundation's largest donor to a government job... we'd be having nonstop Congressional hearings for 4 years.

We'll have them here too, that is if the Democrats ever take control of the House or Senate again. Maybe you can write a note to Nancy Pelosi and future DNC chair Ralph Ellison and ask them to look into it for you.

Honestly if you can't see that giving someone who paid you 6 million dollars a government position is something highly ethically compromised, nothing can be done to help you.

Was it wrong when Obama did it? or only when a Republican does it? NPR link just for you!
http://www.npr.org/2014/12/03/36814...any-big-donors-to-ambassadorships-critics-say
Ambassadors to other countries are not positions of power. They are more or less equivalent to say the people who greet you when you arrive on a college campus for a tour. Nobody gives a shit about who gets most of these positions because they are mostly for show and are meaningless. I think like Steelers owner Dan Rooney was ambassador to ireland for a while or something.

In fact a friend of mine is trying to get work in that regards (ambassador is the top level position and around and below him are junior ambassadors, minor secret service and other security staff, office staff and etc and so on and so on. Its actually a sweet gig since lesser ambassadorial positions are mostly about going to parties with other lesser ambassadors, being friendly and learning other languages and cultures, engaging in lots of sex and also in small amounts of minor espionage). Sometimes it's punitive when you're trying to get sent to Thailand or germany as an ambassador and you get libya or eritrea or something and have to actually spend time there.

Again, is it only wrong when a Republican does it ? or is it really, really, really stupendously wrong when Trump does it, but perfectly OK when your guy/girl does it? Hmmmm what's the word for that ?

You're talking about stuff that didn't happen as a way to justify stuff that is actually happening!

Basically by your argument, if I talk about stealing money that gives you free reign to go and rob people blind? Because I talked about it once?

Obama made plenty of appointments from donors, it's routine in Washington DC, and in every State capital. My complaint is that suddenly it's a a nightmare because someone you opposed is doing the same thing.
