Oh good, a guy with a history of floating that people might be race traitors for AG. That seems like a good pick!

The Flynn pick is impressively batshit, by the way. I have to say that I never thought I would see the day where the US National Security Adviser was recently on the payroll for a Russian propaganda network before taking the job. That's not even getting into all the other insane shit he says and does.

Can anyone articulate a coherent theme behind these picks other than white racial resentment and people who were nice to Trump?
The charges of cronyism in W's administration will be dwarfed bigly in Trump's.

Trump has the best cronies.

The only rumored pick that seems sane (aside from Preibus) is Romney for SoS. The others ... I mean Sessions was rejected from a federal court appointment in the '80s for being too racist. I imagine there will be a bit of a confirmation fight on that one.
I would be soo amazed if he picked Romney. Sh.t bro, he was practically the head of the Republican Stop Trump movement. So far, though, he would be a sane pick and he's a very competent person.

He's definitely one of the "Purity of Essence" kind of military persons.

man I really do not understand how anyone who's been insulted by drumpf would want anything at all to do with him or his cabinet.
goddamn...
drumpf on mittens:
But then when I heard he was gonna run again and I was thinking about running, I let him know. I said the guys a stone cold loser, he choked and when you're a choker, you can never give a choker a second change. It's too important. A choker is a choker."

You realize most everyone who's been insulted by Trump also insulted him right? Mittens dished it out and called Trump all sorts of things as well. That's politics. When the fight is over, everyone should realize it's politics and not necessarily personal. Sometimes it's also personal, but the fact that we're even hearing about possibly Lyin' Ted and Mittens being discussed shows it's politics, not personal.

I figured he was borrowing from Obama's "Elections have consequences, I won" playbook.

No, that was just a good guy doing good things. This is different, this is a bad guy. A republican no less!

I mean I think we all agree that Trump is a bad guy, no? All that aside, I'm not sure how Trump being a bad guy is relevant here either.

You guys seem to be wildly attempting to spin off onto unrelated tangents.

By the way, you've had quite awhile to come up with your definition of 'ban' for that other thread. I'm going to go back and bump that in case you can't find it. Any ETA on when you're going to be able to get that to us?

something that this site in particular may care about...

Sessions as AG could mean trouble for tech

As a senator, Sessions has long taken a hard line against Silicon Valley's efforts to curtail government surveillance, and he's railed for years against tech companies that rely on foreign engineers. His selection as attorney general on Friday could be a sign that the Trump administration may take a tougher approach with the nation's tech industry...

Sessions as AG could be an influential figure as Congress begins to debate whether and how to reauthorize the legal provision that allows the National Security Agency to intercept digital communications. The provision, Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, will expire next year unless lawmakers act.

During the last major surveillance debate in 2015, Sessions warned against anything that could weaken the NSA's spying capability — a stance that put him at odds with Silicon Valley, which sought to scale back digital snooping in the wake of Edward Snowden's leaks. The senator wrote that the USA Freedom Act, which aimed to stop the bulk collection of phone records, "would make it vastly more difficult for the NSA to stop a terrorist than it is to stop a tax cheat. Why make it much harder to investigate terrorists than common criminals?" The legislation ultimately passed, despite his vote against it.

Reince Preibus' name hurts my ears but that's the worst thing I have to say about him. He had an impossible election. There was a very popular incumbent from the other party and an outsider running through the primary like a bull in a china shop. I can't point to anything impressive that he did but the results speak for themselves. He managed his party very will in an extremely difficult situation. I think he's an excellent choice for chief of staff.

As an American I'm embarrassed that Bannon will be in the Whitehouse, but I'm more embarrassed that Trump will be so NBD.

Flynn might have a tough time balancing his obligations to both Putin and Erdogan, but I bet Putin pays better in the end.

Sessions is very racist which isn't notable in this administration although he is a standout. He thinks gay people should be sent to prison for having consensual sex in their own homes. I usually chalk that kind of thing up to self hate and being in the closet, but hating might just be his thing. He seems to hate marijuana more than a rational, or even irrational, person should. If he goes after businesses that are operating legally under state law it will have a big economic impact.

Reince's performance is especially impressive when compared to DWS and Brazile. The RNC should hire them as consultants for their ability to turn elections red.
