It would actually be a plus for the country. Each party needs a haircut, and it's the Repubs in the barber's chair first. If the Repub establishment doesn't honor the will of the people then who knows what could happen? Violent revolt isn't out of the equation. Somehow I doubt the establishment would be that stupid though.

It's been done before and there were no riots then, why now?

It looks like Paul Ryan is the anointed one. There is word to put him in. What I do not understand is do they think they can just get a guy out of the blue who never bothered to run and just hand him the nomination on a silver platter.

At least the other candidates had to put in a shit load of equity. If paul ryan is foolish enough to take it and he loses, his political career will be done for. No one will re-elect a cheat.

Remember when Herman Cain was the frontrunner right after he jumped in? That's why.

1968 Democratic Convention? lol
After the violence which took place at the Chicago convention, Daley said his primary reason for calling in so many Guardsmen and police was reports he received indicating the existence of plots to assassinate many of the leaders, including himself.[21]

You cant compare the two. He actually had to run and he lost. This is someone who never even ran to begin with and all of the sudden out of a smoke filled room they declare. HAIL Paul Ryan.

People will be WTF? he never ran how did this happen etc.. It will make people doubt we even have a democracy, it would be like a Banana Republic.

/this

I said pretty much the same about clinton and BS with the supers. though that has slowed down and seems clinton is winning more and more.

People will feel the election is stolen if it happens. NOTHING good will come out of it for the GOP if they do it.

I don't think Paul Ryan is even interested. Arguably, he has one of the most powerful positions in the country by virtue of being majority leader. Although he's not such an odd choice when you consider that he's third in line I think to be president. I don't think he wants to give up a sure thing for a chance at president. And it IS a sure thing. Even if Hillary wins by a landslide we're still going to have a Rep Congress.

In any event, I think we're going to get either Cruz or Kasich. Neither of them can win but neither could Romney and he got nominated anyway.

As for Trump's childish threats, no one takes him seriously except the people who are as racist and reactionary as he is. I'm sure there probably will be violence but that was going to happen anyway. People blame Trump for it but he's just a cowardly instigator. I think the violence will probably be worse than it would otherwise because of his continued encouragement of his brown shirts but it won't be in any way unexpected.

I'm not saying it's a slam dunk that his statement means violence. You can have riots without violence. It's possible. The thread is mainly to get other opinions of his meaning, not just my hopes.

There's not a lot of nuance involved in Donald's statements. It's not like we're talking about the federal reserve here. If you don't take his comments at face value, you're over thinking it.

Donald definitely wants to see his supports get brutal with his opponents. He thinks every problem can be solved by confrontation. But beyond that, he's an attention whore. Why else would someone who has more money than he knows what to do with host a reality show. He's like middle aged, fat, bald guy with a small dick that buys a red corvette. Overcompensate much?

"That was a quick draft effort.

The Committee to Draft Speaker Ryan for President, created by a group of New York political consultants and financed by Earle Mack, a real estate developer and former ambassador to Finland, is shutting down."

Correct, Paul Ryan said today he won't be the nominee. It's going to be Trump.

Yea, Trump won't be beholden to anyone. Ha! Ha! Ha!
Everyone loves Trump, even rich Jews who own the biggest paper in Israel. That's despite 26% of Jews voting conservative. That shows his broad appeal - Reagan Dems and billionaire Jews.

Why does he lose in all the general election match ups if his appeal is so broad?

Usually having broad appeal means you don't lose to everyone, haha.
