And.... with Trump allowing Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to even hint at this in public means that this is already a done deal.
Trump would never allow any Trump administration official to say anything in public that was not going to happen.
Hmmmmm If I am correct, this is not the first time cash handouts have been tried. Didn't Clinton or Bush do something similar for some reason? Was it that 2008 crash or the 1987 crash?

Nancy should have run right away to the media when those shitbag Republicans started gutting the sick leave legislation. It would have put the pressure right back on them.
 
Anyway.... should things get really bad with layoffs and closed establishments and workers really hurting, those unemployed workers will need that $1000, then.... take a gun and come after YOUR $1000 check.

Seriously, I do wonder how long this can go on until the people have no other alternative but to turn to crime and to looting to feed their families and pay their bills.
During THE GREAT DEPRESSION, FDR created public service jobs to fix roads and build parks. That at least offered some of the suffering and unemployed employment and a paycheck to mail back home to the family.
 
Money should be only for people laid off. Check for people afraid to spend it will just be saved. Won't help economy.

We can afford more ammunition and better firearms, so bring it on. As it is the current poors can't even be bothered to get on the subway from the ghetto to the nice section of town where the rich Democrats live like Bloomberg and @fskimospy , so I doubt the newly unemployed will come and attempt to take our stuff either. Keep on imagining that scenario though, like an extinction level meteor strike you might actually prove correct some dozens of millenia hence.

And that has been my conspiracy theory. Canceled elections, canceled primaries, a huge dose of doubt tossed into any election or primary that DOES take place.
Number one rule for any dictator wannabe... ELIMINATE THE COMPLETION.
If people were sick already with Trump boasting of his great economy and his great job market then just wait until Trump claims credit for curing the virus, saving human life, saving America, and no doubt personally responsible for saving THE WORLD.

The deficit hawk species is functionally extinct. No one gives a shit or cares anymore about "how it's paid for" unless it's crafted as an argument to justify top income tax rates going up or down in a 3 to 5 percentage point range. We're just trying to hold off the American version of the Greek meltdown for long enough for the current crop of politicians to get elected one more time.
