Trump on Twitter...

"The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes"

You seem to act as if arming the United States with the best and state of the art nuclear weapons is a bad thing.

Does this confirm or not confirm that Trump is either Russian or heavily coached by the Russians?

We can contract out the order to Iran.
They probably have an exclusive deal with Russia. We'll have to get ours from Israel.:) (Putting a post-modern twist on the old term "proxy war"....;))

And meanwhile, the Chinese will watch with amusement as we fuck up our economies even worse with a renewed arms race, and of course sell us cut-rate radiation suits, and Iran and Israel, most of the parts for the nukes we'll be buying, now that they're the only major world power with really serious manufacturing capacity... Good times, good times...

PS: Anyone know how to say "pass the popcorn" in Mandarin?;)

I guess the nuclear non-proliferation treaty means nothing now.

How many nukes is enough if 7100 isn't?

Does it really matter how "good" our nukes are? The USA blew up two cities and killed hundreds of thousands of people with two primitive nukes with a thousandth the yield of even our current "bad" nukes, and you disgusting slobs are arguing that we need better ones, and more of them. Using a single one of our current "bad" nukes at this point will mean the end of human civilization, and we need better ones. What the fuck is wrong with you people?

That's not his lips Putin feels. That's a nuclear missile!
No, that's just The Donald, showing his "happiness to see him", as they used to say back in the good old days of the Hays Code.;)

What it confirms is that if he hadn't inherited so much money from his father, he most likely would've been committed a lo-o-ong time ago...

Hey if that fucking star in the center of our solar system is able to add the same energy as 200 atomic bombs per minute over the last 40 years goddammit so should Merica.

The U.S. currently has:
  • No reprocessing capacity to extract plutonium
  • No uranium enrichment capacity
  • No plutonium production reactors in service
We'll get right on that Mr. President.

Nukes are a necessary deterrent, but it appears Trump has different ideas for their use. I don't (personally) see the advantage in possessing enough nuclear capability to destroy the world thrice-over instead of twice... but if you are an idiot and think that a single nuke used sparingly will not cause WWIII and will in fact make the world a better place... then perhaps his idea makes sense.

There are substantial stockpiles of highly enriched fissile material still in government possession. Certainly enough for hundreds if not thousands or new weapons. I know there is a large amount of HEU set aside for naval reactors that came out of decommissioned weapons which could be partially shifted back.
