Trump wants a 20% tariff on Mexico to pay for the Wall

Go ahead Trump, fuck America right up her ass. I look forward to this travesty.

I'm going to start learning how to grow my own produce. I'm not paying $30 for a head of lettuce after this retard gets done fucking things up over some dumbass wall.

Clears the deck for the next most practical scheme: slant drilling to take their oil
As usual, the Simpsons did it first

I keep hearing how this cost will be past on to Americans, which yeah is probably going to happen. But won't products not made in Mexico be able to undercut them? How about you buy more Coors and less Corona since it will be cheaper anyways. You are not forced to buy products made in Mexico, you know.

Is Molson Coors even considered an American company?

I am not saying you don't have a point, but I would be interested to see an actual percentage of American companies that rely on products from Mexico. It's a valid concern, no doubt. But then those companies also have a choice to contract with an American company to produce those goods as well - and if I have to pay more because it costs more to deal with an American company than I am fine with that.

We tried isolationist trade policies once in 1930. Worked out splendidly.

Make them pay for it now means we pay for it twice?

Exactly.

American taxpayers front the money so that American consumers can later pay it back.

Wreck havoc on both our economies in order to build a stupid wall.

Mexico can just decide to stop patrolling their side of the border and plow the money into ladder and shovel subsidies instead.

What a fucking clown show.

Mexican products plus 20% competing American products plus 15%. Why wouldn't you match it if you can still sell it.

Presidential authority is granted by Congress. The powers to change tariffs is not an inherent right of an Administration, but granted by Title 19 IIRC.

Here's an excellent target for change. Let Republicans fight it and as things backfire the Dems look better.

The real test is what will Republicans do. The same ones that called him a bat shit crazy fool. I suspect as more of the crazy happens, and Republicans realize hes not Republican, just crazy, things will get interesting.

Nope, all their bases belong to Trump. Thirty six years of operative conditioning laid at Trump's feet.

First, the word "usually" and Trump don't belong together.

Second, it's not an insult; it's more of a threat (or Trump's counter to their "no" re: the wall). I think Mexico will have to think long and hard before calling this 'bluff'.

Some people are responding to Trump's election by freaking out. When he was elected I knew my response was going to be pulling up a lounge chair and grabbing a really, really big bucket of popcorn.

Because you will enjoy watching Trump and the Republican party flush your country down the toilet? Enjoy that popcorn.

It's incorporated in the US but it's equally controlled by the Molson and Coors families.
Meh, I live in the microbrewery capital of the world (buying local being as American as it gets), so I wouldn't drink that swill anyway.

Your sister is a dirty whore who sucks two dicks under the bleachers every Tuesday.

Want to trade your Micky Mantle for my rookie Jordan? It's still wrapped and in mint condition. LMK.
PS your mom is fat.

don't have to wait for the wall if you want to pay $30 for lettuce. Say bye bye to NAFTA! 😀 (well, maybe not $30, but shit ain't gonna be cheap once Trump is done with us)
