Trump to address the SCOTUS

The wanna-be Tyrant in Chief is pissed because his racist, spiteful, revenge-motivated, ego satisfying, vote-getting, self-aggrandizing edicts are being rebuffed and challenged by pipsqueak lower court pissants who don't have any right to challenge his egotistically derived policy making decisions.

Got it. You go Donny Dickwadd! Your people (Pence included) are right behind you patting you on the head, rubbing your tummy and whispering sweet sweet hate-filled nothings in your ears.

Kinda like when Obama care was passed?

I still don't understand why republicans get so pissy about democrats passing a decades-long, very popular Republican Healthcare program.

yet they do.

Regardless, the ACA is officially constitutionally-protected.

POTUS demanding that SCOTUS and other Federal courts only ever decide in his favor? Yeah, that is rather boldly unconstitutional. In fact, the document would cease to have any meaning at that point if the courts decided to go along with such a vile demand, all amendments would essentially be deeded void, and it would be the first day of true American Dictatorship.

Good thing the courts won't do that, and Roberts sure as shit would never do that. Still, if real, this means that we actually have a POTUS and VPOTUS that are gleefully arguing for a true Dictatorship. This is not hyperbole. That is exactly what Pence is supposedly calling for.

That, alone, should be legitimately alarming. But it's not--time to duflect to some Obama, I guess.

Sounds like he’s getting closer to a Viktor Orban solution...oh hey guess who’s coming to White House state dinner next week??

What’s the Orban solution? From December 2018: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/12/world/europe/hungary-courts.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share

Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary tightened his grip on power on Wednesday, as the Hungarian Parliament, controlled by Mr. Orban’s far-right party, approved the creation of a parallel court system that cements executive control over the judiciary.

Once the new system begins operating within the next 12 months, Mr. Orban’s justice minister will control the hiring and promotion of its judges, who will have jurisdiction over cases relating to “public administration” — including politically sensitive matters like electoral law, corruption and the right to protest.

Mr. Orban has already spent nearly eight years undermining the independence of Hungary’s courts and other institutions. He has appointed an old friend as leader of the judicial system, stacked the Constitutional Court with loyalists, altered the electoral process to favor his party, brought most of the Hungarian media under the control of his closest allies, and appointed friends and party colleagues to lead state watchdog institutions, including the prosecution service.

In other words—ignore Congress, cement executive control over judiciary (if SCOTUS supersedes) and law enforcement (AG Barr is all about unitary executive!) All hail Trump!

Congratulations conservatives, you bought and paid for the authoritarian government you pretended to fear! To quote someone who used to hang around here...Good job!

It's been a long time since my HS Civics classes, but I'm pretty sure this is a blatant attempt to undermined the checks and balances. *sigh*

Yeah, it's only been a few years since the last admin publicly warned SCOTUS to rule a certain way. And certainly FDR was fine with however the court ruled [/sarcasm]. That being said Trump should keep his mouth shut for a while (will never happen, but he should).

After reading article Obama did not request or "warn" justices rule a certain way. He pointed out they would be violating their own principles.
