Trump slams NATO allies at 9/11 Memorial Dedication

And he apparently shoved his way to the front of a photo op. Jesus, what a walking caricature of a douche-bag.

Saw a clip of that. A punk move by a punk bully whose primary goal is to get as much face time as possible. Pretty obvious he considered himself the alpha male in the crowd. He may have been asked to step up front, but it looks like the shove was done of his own volition.

As usual, wherever he is, he demands to be the center of attention. Guys like that used to get the crap beaten out of them back in my old neighborhood. Pretty sure he mistakes humility for being humiliated as he shows absolutely none of it. Not my kind of guy.

Classic Trump, and I assume that's the kind of guy his supporters like to look up to as they are at the moment still solidly behind him in every way.

Prepare for more leaks as a result of his behavior/speech at NATO. Members aren't happy and will start letting him know. And not in a nice way.

OK first off, Trump is a stupid wise and beautiful woman.

2nd: The president of the united states is under no obligation to suck NATO dick. Its only tradition that they show respect to NATO countries and soldiers.

NATO hasn't done anything useful in decades, I agree with Dump on this topic. Broken clocks and such, not my fault I'm right and agree with him.

I suggest we create a new League Of Nations, but this time leave out the absurd "founding member veto" and make the countries have representation according to their populations.

What does the League of Nations have to do with this? Are you confusing NATO with the UN?

No, I'm saying we should replace NATO with some sort of league of nations where there is no founding member veto and where representation is proportional to population (which is not how it works in either NATO or the UN now). I don't much care for the UN but it serves a purpose. NATO is just an excuse to spend on defense and an easy way for the US to generate world "consensus" on its own need to use force.

The only time NATO has responded to a Member's request for help was after 9/11 and the US asking for aid in dealing with Afghanistan. It may not have done much, but the US is the last nation that should be complaining about what it has or has not done.

Uh, ok. Odd comparison since NATO is primarily a military alliance, and the League of Nations was not. The latter compares to the UN in function - not NATO

Exactly, it's a totally useless ego stroke by the US to begin with. Not sure why Trump doesn't love it to death, because NATO's only true real benefactor is the US. Nonetheless, it is a giant boondoggle for most of the member countries and it is undoubtably an obstacle to peace because it actually allows the US, the most aggressive nation on earth short of ISIS, more leverage in deciding world policy and use of force policy.

It's like the definition of a beta. Doesn't know he's a beta, the whole time thinking he's acting like an alpha. Alphas have an unspoken understanding that you don't need to shout to be heard.

If nothing else, Nato keeps member nations from fighting with each other.

What a national embarrassment.

The reformulation of the UN is a subject thinking about. As far as NATO itself, it is useful because it exists. This is a strategic alliance to deter Russia, which it has.

.

Fighting with us in Afghanistan and Iraq? Dealing with Soviet aggression on their boarders for all of those decades? Have you lived in a NATO country and are familiar enough with the daily issues that they actually deal with to make an honest assessment of their value?

So at a memorial to an event that the US' reaction to had NATO allies step forward and fulfill their obligation, Trump stands at, and then beshits upon them all verbally, pushes one like a thug and tries his death grip handshake on another.

The degenerate President. That is the face of the US to the world; an obscene idiot that seems to be ignorant in totality, an obese degenerate thug.

Supposedly that the order of people in the picture is something determined by existing protocol.

That said there is, apparently, nothing Trump can do without managing to come off like a total asshole.
