Trump sends a legal US resident to an El Salvador prison camp. Claims is was a "mistake" and now refuses to get him back.

Again, he was not a citizen but a protected status alien But I understand the point you are making and not defending ignoring the Supreme Court.
The Constitution is supposed to constrain government actions. They don't get to skip random steps because someone wasn't a citizen (or claiming that someone wasn't a citizen, or whatever other bullshit they want to make up).

Selective application of rules and process means there is no rules and process.

At around the 7:30 mark you can hear Trump talk about how US citizens are next and so El Salvador will need to build more gulags.

Follow-up from Leavitt's previous declaration about deporting US citizens, I suppose.

If this is what this guy is doing.. what will the next guy do?

They objectively go even more and more extreme.

By saying this entire issue is overblown is defending it. You've been conditioned by Trump and right-wing media to believe ignoring the Constitution by a POTUS doesn't mean anything.

Seems the real issue is that he's from El Salvador, so the US can't force their government to had over their citizen even if he was a legal resisdent of the US.

We can’t FORCE them but we could 100% get him back if we wanted to. The agreement we signed with El Salvador said we control the prisoners.

I see old Felix says this is overblown despite the SCOTUS, you know that third co-equal branch of government, ruled 9-0, trumpolini had to facilitate his return and they defied a federal court judge orders after the SCOTUS order.

I hope Felix you are the first “undesirable” to ride the train. Listening to the clicking of those wheels cramped with all the others on the dole deported to work the mines 24/7. You fucking traitor.

There is a natural progression to this thing though, cause when ICE rolls up some people will have nothing to lose and since it's America there is plenty of guns around... That might be when he deploys the military.

Abrego Garcia could be returned to the USA in under twelve hours, allowing a liberal amount of time for processing. Yet he is not back. This is the Trumpist party testing out what happens if they simply ignore the law. They aren’t just ignoring the law but the highest court ruling. A 9 - 0 ruling!!. There’s nowhere to go from here. That’s the first domino. Why should I expect free and fair elections in 2026?. Best guess? Without the means to enforce, and with the White House realizing this, the Supreme Court will most likely do nothing.

Abrego Garcia dying in prison is the most likely outcome
