You can google it up. I haven;t seen any alerts in like 5 years I think. Samsung devices do it in the text app itself. Androids have it under settings/notifications I think.

I just checked mine and the presidential alert is greyed out so I cannot change it.😵

I saw it as the 21st century's emergency broadcast system. People don't watch tv that much anymore, and if they do, it's probably a streaming service so the EBS couldn't break in if there was an emergency.
If that's all it's used for, seems like a pretty sound idea as the majority of the citizens have cell phones vs how many still watch broadcast television/radio.
trump is still a festering, unpopped zit of a human, but bitching about this is kinda silly.

Just saw tonight Joe Rogan on Kimmel, he had dinner at the WH . He said Trump’s favorite Rocky movie was Rocky IV, the one in Russia, it figures.
 
No. I was not joking. But happy that the message was benign. I didn't know of the checks requiring review of the message by FEMA, but it makes logical sense. I did not think a political message was very likely anyway, but possible enough given Trump's character and past actions to comment on.

You people that don't want these alerts are absolutely mentally deficient. You'll also be the ones screaming the loudest when shtf and you didn't get notified. There are dead people all over California that if they were alive, would probably wish they would have been notified of the event that killed them.

But honestly the notifications won't do most of you any good. You don't have a plan or a bug out bag nor do you know the difference between a corn seen and a cheeseburger seed.

But that's really OK. The country needs a reset anyway.
