Trump sending out text message today @2:18pm whether you want it or not

I'm no fan of Trump's, but seriously, this was overblown.

Like people have said, "Presidential Alert" doesn't mean you're going to see insane "NO COLLUSION RIGGED WITCH HUNT" rants forced to your phone. These are for natural disasters and other large, multi-state incidents. And thankfully, the President can't just fire up an app on his phone and send alerts on a whim; there's a process. While I'm sure Trump would like to force everyone to read his diatribes, he can't.

While users can choose not to participate in messages of missing children and natural disasters, they are required to receive presidential alerts, which are sent out at the direction of the White House and activated by FEMA.

Rules outlined in a 2006 law states that the White House can issue a presidential alert only if the public were in peril, or during national emergencies. The alert cannot be a personal message on behalf of the president.

The wireless alert system launched in 2012.

A group of New Yorkers is suing to be able to opt out of the alert, claiming it infringes on their First Amendment rights.

So if you are given a political text message you don't like, its time to remove Trump from office? You must hate NFL kneelers, eh?

There is abuse of office. If Trump uses this for political purposes he has violated the regulations and yes that leaves him open for impeachment to add to the justifiable reasons.

As it is this is a system that is being tested for emergencies and makes perfect sense.

Nice to see you have such a trusting nature when it comes to this dirtbag. History teaches you nothing.

So what's going to be his first message? "In the case of an actual emergency don't believe your eyes and ears, only believe me"

I hope you learned something today.

I don't think any real-world court of any ideology would side with them.

Does anyone think Trump wouldn't if he could?? As long as Republicans are in control of the House impeachment will NEVER happen.

Would Trump rob your live savings for his own if he had the power? Would he shoot people in the street?

The point, the entire point, is about an emergency warning system. That Trump might shoot my dog isn't germane.

Got mine - shocker it's a nothing-burger.
I dunno why this is even a topic of interest.

Because it was TTRRUUUUHUHUHUHUUUUMMMP!!!!! ZOMG!!!!! Stupid a** f*ck idiots freak out over everything. I'm not a Trump fan at all, but libs are just plain embarrassing themselves on this one. If Obama had proposed this, the libs would hail it as pure genius and spat on anyone that panned it. It's sh*t like this that keeps me off of ATPN anymore.

I'll don my asbestos knickers now as I'm sure the usual suspects will be along cuz I upset them.
