If I was wrong I'd say so. The Trump tariffs are hardly being paid by Americans, we knew the moment that tariffs were implemented that there would be some ugliness before things got better. The Democrats are willing to shutdown the government over $5 billion because helping to secure our border and our country isn't worth that amount to them. We'll make it through their carelessness, but it'll take time.
jesus christ you're such a self-hating liar.

Of course Trump tariffs are being paid by Americans. It can be no other way.

Absolutely. Our prices to build machinery have went up quite a bit. Several of our suppliers now have disclaimers at the top of the quotes stating that the price may be adjusted upward, even after ordering, because of cheeto's tariffs. Those prices will either be passed on to consumers or the companies ordering machinery won't order because the price to do so is prohibitive.

I thought trade wars are easy to win?

If you think building the wall will improve security in any significant way you're confused beyond help; let alone the exorbitant amount of funds needed for that task

China's competitors will obviously raise prices to American consumers, as well. Capitalism 101. Ferengi rules of acquisition also cover it, I'm sure.

Someone doesn't know how tariffs work.

And it was the Republican Congress which wrote and passed the budget bill sitting on the President's desk. The shutdown is the result of the President refusing to sign a budget bill written and passed by his own party.

With today's close, 2018 is officially the worst year since 2008/ George W Bush.

First* losing year in a decade

First time EVER the S&P has closed negative after being up for the first three quarters.

Worst December since the Great Depression.

Final score for 2018? Fucking fail.

If Trump was an NFL coach, he would have been fired today.

Don't worry, Trump is just setting us up for massive gains. You'll see. :tonguewink:

I blame Jimmy Carter because why the hell not. Trumpettes won't own it.

We knew that if you came back you'd try this. "I'm not wrong, it's just a momentary setback! All hail Divine Leader Trump!"

Trump is directly responsible for this downturn. And there are now talks that this could lead to a recession in 2019. Why can't you grow a spine and accept that you were wrong? There's no shame in admitting mistakes and improving yourself from them.

Turmp seems to be outdoing Republicans, he wants to make sure that the negative aspects of his bullshit fiscal policies comes due before the end of his first term. Usually the Rubs try to make it a ticking bomb to try and fuck over the Democrats (knowing the policies are not actually popular or do any of the things they claim and they'll almost inevitably lead to Democrats winning things back to fix the shit). And Bush Jr really tried, he really really tried (Enron, but it wasn't enough) and he did manage to get it to squeak in just before the end of his 2nd term (which people were already so sick of his administration's shit before then that I don't know that it actually hurts his legacy with most people much).

I worry though that Turmp will flush it down the toilet and it'll get good and clogged, and the only way to fix it is to buy a new goddamned toilet, but we'll then spend 2 decades fighting and arguing over what the toilet should be. But it'll come to an impasse and we'll end up with a bucket, that we'll build a guilded outhouse around to try and pretend its not what it is. And one side will look at the bidets that some other places have and say how we could have that for what we're paying for the guilded outhouse, and the other side will look at other places that just have a hole to squat over and wipe with their bare hands and blame those people for the bucket. If nothing else, maybe we can at least agree that Turmp's name should be on it, just you know the bottom of the bucket, with a picture of his face to signify how we feel about him. Knowing him, he'd be into it and be extra happy that his name will live on in history.

OP have anything to say about 2019? Cheeto has fucked up China with the trade bullshit and we look to drop about 400 points on first trading day because of it. Things might change but not looking good.

Trade wars are easy....

Doubt he will answer, but he said last week that it will be all coming back and more due to a trade deal with China where we're going to "make more money."

At the time it was, it has pulled back recently. I'm sure the run will return, the problems right now are but bumps in the road. The Trump economy is still roaring.

Day finished in the green but then Apple dropped an after hours bomb and the futures dropped YUUUGGGEEEE!

Apple confirms that the 'easy to win' trade war is slowing the economy.

Will it lead to a recession because the orange cheeto is a stupid fuck?

Recession was bound to happen; but there is absolutely no doubt that Trump has been freebasing that shit and we are now looking at 10s of years for honest recovery instead of 5s of years.

Even a big ol' toke of investor tax cut crack couldn't hold it up forever. It just makes the coming down worse & the debt acquired acts to limit govt response. Can't afford any recovery money! Gonna have to cut, cut, cut! to keep the deficits under control. Oh, and wage slave suckas should enjoy their pissant tax cuts in anticipation of their pink slips. Sux, huh? Shoulda been Rich.

Remember when austerity was what was demanded of Greece, and how well that worked out? (this, in fact, failed all EU countries that enacted severe austerity policies in response to 2008)

lulz....

Lard ass cheeto blamed the stock market losses in Dec, due to a "glitch".
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-says-t...na-coming-along-very-175514425--business.html

Seriously, a glitch.

Dec 1st - 26,014
Dec 31st - 23,315
That's a 10.4% drop.

Worst December in 87 years, since the great Depression in 1931
when the Dow lost 17% in December.

cheeto glosses over this horrible performance and calls it a glitch.
Effing maroon. 🙄

Well, it was a "glitch". A glitch in our election process and education system.
