They didn't.

"I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."

Holy shit! are you fucking dumb? Do you think January 6th is the only thing that happened that people are claiming was a coup? Because if that’s all you are aware of then the answer is clear, yes you are fucking dumb!

The attack on the Capitol was not the coup attempt. The fake electors and Pence were the coup attempt.

Trump asked Pence to violate the constitution to throw out valid votes for his opponent so he could stay in power. That’s the dictionary definition of a coup.

And Trump similarly repeatedly asked/threatened multiple governors, secretaries of state, and all the way down to calling local elections officials demanding that they all illegally throw out valid Biden votes or magically “find” Trump votes, and then coordinated with a large number of state Republican officials to forge false elector certificates to further his coup attempt

Sure I'd like to pretend that the leaders of one of our two political parties attempting to steal an election was a made-for-tv movie. Sorta like The Day After was a fake (and super scary as a kid) movie about nukes.

But it fricking well happened, and is likely to happen again.

Getting a cancer diagnosis is damn bleak too (I know) but you deal with it any way you can. You can't sit there and pretend you don't have cancer saying "it's all fine".

I hope Biden has the FBI and Justice and fricking Homelander and Dr. Strange or whatever he's got deployed to monitor and protect this election. Last time the stealer-in-chief was in charge. I realize this is individual states likely to actually pull off the heist, but do what you can. And sure now the GOP will wail about government forces out stealing the election, but they are going to do that anyway.

When people who break laws to stay in power brag about it in public, it's not if, it's when.

Pcgeek is a magat concern troll who tried to hiide behind both sides. It is pointless to debate him. He is completely in the cult. If you ask basic yes no questions, he deflects or runs. No point.
@pcgeek11 does not have the mental skills to recognize being verbally played by Trump who takes both sides of a controversy to give his people an out.

He bragged about grabbing women by the pvssy yet when asked about it under oath he said...

KAPLAN: In this video, ‘I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss, I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the p*ssy, you can do anything.’ That’s what you said, correct?

TRUMP: Well, historically that’s true with stars.

KAPLAN: It’s true of stars that they can grab them by the p*ssy?

TRUMP: Well, If you look at the last million years, that’s been largely true. Not always, but largely true. Unfortunately or fortunately.

KAPLAN: You consider yourself to be a star?

TRUMP: I think you can say that, yeah.

@pcgeek11 sees that and says, "See Trump says he is against grabbing women by the pvssy"

I wonder if Pcgeek will acknowledge Biden won 2020, there was little voter fraud with republicans mostly and fake elector scheme. Can you do that Pcgeek?

Did Biden win 2020?
Was most voter fraud instances found done by Republicans?
Was there a fake elector scheme?

Yes or no answers would suffice.

Sure I can do that. I've never claimed that he didn't lose the 2020 election.

Did Biden win 2020?

Yes, Biden won the 2020 election.

Was most voter fraud instances found done by Republicans?

I have no idea. Any voter fraud that was done was so small it made no difference in the outcome.

Was there a fake elector scheme?

There was an elector scheme that was plotted. I believe Trump was following some very bad advice from some very bad actors in this scheme. Specifically Trump attorneys Chesebro and Eastman and many others.

He won't even call the electors scheme "fake". Always defending his God.

BTW - Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten followed bad advice, yet they were convicted of murder.

I think this is perfectly reasonable with one change - Trump was following advice from some bad people but he was ALSO explicitly refusing to listen to advice from a far, far larger number of lawyers from every corner of the government, his administration, etc. who told him his plan was flatly illegal. You can’t use the advice of counsel defense if you were repeatedly informed it was wrong and ignored that.

He was told it was an attempt at an illegal seizure of power over and over and went ahead with it anyway. He knew what he was doing.

Yep, everyone involved, including Trump himself, knew it was illegal. He was warned by multiple people.

Not just that he was warned, but really he didn’t even have to be warned because the plot was so facially ridiculous. The fundamental premise is that no matter the results of the election the VP has the power to pick the next president by refusing to count electoral votes they don’t like.

You do not need to be a constitutional scholar to be like ‘wait, if that’s the case why do we bother to have elections and why has no VP used this power in the past?’
