Trump: “Wait we are supposed to shooting at those darkies in Springfield”

Trumpers will try fake attacks just to help the orange Jabba the Hut

So another armed conservative kid? An Angry Swifty?

<conspiracy> A Trump staffer trying to drum up support for the boss by faking a shooting because hey it boosted his polls before?
AK-47, so probably another gun nutter conservative. For how much gun nuts love saying other people don't know anything about guns, they keep using the wrong weapon for the job.

Does anyone else here think that Kamala may have gone a bit too far telling trump that foreign leaders say he is a disgrace? It just feels like piling on to me, hitting below the belt, and possibly bad karma.
Was this going to far?

FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I don't know. I don't know. All I can say is I read where she was not Black, that she put out. And, I'll say that. And then I read that she was black. And that's okay. Either one was okay with me. That's up to her. That's up to her.

Is it not?
The hate he spews at people of color, this week Haitians, is driving racial violence and stochastic terrorism.
Why shouldn't he be on the receiving end of what he spews?
It's not the way but it is predictable after all the hate spewing.

Hmm SS shot first. But if he saw the gun barrow sticking out from the bushes, why not attempt to trap him instead of shooting first?

Believe me I get it. He’s a piece of shit asshole and he should lose this election. It shouldn’t even be close. But political violence has no place in a free democracy.

If this was done by someone on the left, it will only help Trump. We’re just now seeing a post debate bounce for Harris. This could neutralize it. Also it could lead to retaliation with someone trying to fire at Biden or Harris.

Point is he needs to be beaten at the ballot box. And it needs to be decisive for the GOP to rid themselves of this MAGA cancer.

To be honest, that last line is hard to take seriously. I realise as a politician contending for high office she is pretty-much obliged to say that sort of thing, but...really? Seems to me that violence - particularly gun-violence - has a firmly-established place in America.

Fuck off, seriously fuck right the off. Your constant calls for violence are really disgusting. I get that you have quite the authoritarian streak still but go fuck yourself.

Unless you want this country to become a third world shithole. Be better.

In your call for peace, it is important to remember that MAGA does not believe in free and fair elections. They call them fake. They already want military force to install their guy.

You believe MAGA will fade away. It is my belief that this does not match human nature.
This cancer has consumed Republicans, and they love it. They will only grow more fanatical until their zeal forces violence. Then the country will become Gilead, or they will be conquered. So any complaint of their people being victims of violence... is merely a question of timing. Too soon, perhaps. But let's not mistake it as a question of morality. We know what they want, and Jan 6th was but a taste of what is coming from them.

Hmm, and here I thought hanging around golf courses (and polling locations) with military rifles was a protected Constitutional right in Red states. Ban the Secret Service! They’re coming for your guns…

I only think MAGA will fade away once they are comprehensively beaten by keeping them out of the Executive (first and foremost).
What I worry about is us turning into a modern day Weimar Republic where violence is commonplace in society. That doesn’t end well for anyone and gives the authoritarian style leader an opening to govern.

I believe there are enough people that don’t buy into the fascistic movement that MAGA represents. I’m discouraged that there aren’t more, but there should be enough that can overcome this. But I also think even if Harris does win, it won’t be akin to a Blue Wave where the Dems sweep all the presidency and Congress. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Thankfully in the states where it matters, there are protections in place so the deceitful and corrupt Rs cannot screw with the elections to the level they did before.

Tbh I don’t know where things will go beyond a Harris win. I think 2026 will be a tough election for Dems in the House and and Senate just because of incumbency. But yeah idk, the best way to beat MAGA is to keep winning.

They see the world through the same rationalization. They would only differ with you on the belief you are wrong and they are right. Does that also sound familiar?

Agreed. Not to be grim but I brought this up earlier, a wally world special $300 30-06 and a $100 scope ranged to ~200 yards in 10 minutes would likely get the job done.

Perhaps our difference is thus.
I believe 20th century America was a flicker of light in an otherwise all consuming darkness. Western Civilization, the notion of human rights. Accidents that, per chance, survived up until this point.

But they are NOT universal. There is plenty of slavery or slave-like conditions in the world today. There are military dictatorships and one party authoritarian regimes. Actual Democracy is not only rare throughout history, it is rare today. And governs relatively few humans on our planet. Compared to the majority, who know no freedom. What makes us special? Why did we choose human rights, and what makes us continue to choose it?

What if that upbringing, the education, the tradition... of human rights. What if we fail to pass it on to the next generation? The idea of serving the country and its people BEFORE yourself.
What if our leaders, and our people, no longer believe in those things?

I dare say, that our societies will devolve back into what is normal human behavior. And that is NOT Democracy. Look no further than Afghanistan and Iran. Societies DO devolve and regress back to a more primitive state. It has happened before, it will happen again. As we are obviously susceptible to human nature, what would it take to push us over the edge? Perhaps a deep division, a belief in alternative realities and alt facts, alt histories. Presidents who serve themselves. And a people who cheer that on. I would argue that our fall has already begun and there has been nothing gentle or soft about it.

So no, I think history and human nature works against the idea that we have a chance at peaceful resolution. Not when "fake news" has a direct through line into "fake elections". Our people no longer accept our Democracy. The rest will be inertia, we live now in a moment before impact. Before we face the consequences of our precarious place in history, and the true evil of human nature catching up with us.

I wish I could still share in your optimism for the America of the 20th century. Twas a grand, glorious dream we shared. Of a people united. Of peace and prosperity.
