Well, as a lifetime thick head he's not used to taking orders. Loves to give them. He's a confused motherfucker, we know that. But self doubt is not something he will indulge. Thinking he has all the answers is his religion and he'll stick by it and let you know. Maybe on his deathbed he'll give it up.

Not to take away from this being a terrible thing, but it says something that his first thought was the photo op and not that he could still be in danger.

Maybe he figured, "Lee Harvey Oswald did it, so can I". Also, Trump likely wears a vest, so a head shot maybe the only thing available.

The political press is full of both sides nincompoops who claim to have no agency and just report things, but time and time again show that they in fact drive narratives and love to create the impression of horse races to sell clicks. They have no concept about the gravity of the situation or the damage that their inept reporting continually does.

There is an existential threat to Democracy in a candidate who has told everyone he will be a day one dictator.

Trump is going to eventually get his followers crazed enough to start trying to kill them and we're going to get pieces about how Democrats did not successfully "lower the political temperature". Or they alternatively they'll be penning these pieces from federal jail if they ever displease a future President Trump.

Lol on top of this. Orange monkey defender on documents dismissal. Once the people vote him back into office in November, Biden has to pardon away these indictments to heal the country.
 
Republicans are flat out lying in their call for unity. Biden did the right thing before we knew the identity of the shooter. Trump campaign and Republicans initially blamed it on leftist Dems. Republicans have now come out with this unity thing after the shooter has been identified as a registered Republican who looks like a white nationalist.

Press hasn't figured out this is not a both sides thing. By that frame they are giving Trump a pass.

Like my example I've used numerous times, Dems go 5 mph over the speed limit. Trump and the GOP go 50 mph over the speed limit and the press say both are guilty of speeding.
