Except has said that he doesn't take vacations b/c you shouldn't have to if you love your job. He has also accused Obama for taking too much vacation. He accused Obama for playing golf and that he would be too busy to play golf as President but he is on pace to play more golf in his first year in office to all eight year's that Obama was President. He also is giving your tax money to his businesses by constantly staying at his own businesses every weekend instead of the WH. That's why you should care.

The only thing I care about are things he does that effect all of us in a bad way. There are plenty of examples of that. If I had my way, this f u c k would be on vacation 365 days a year. I am much more worried when he is actively trying to do Presidential stuff.... nothing good can come from that.

I do not care how much vacation time a president takes. I did not care about Obama's and I do not care about Trump's.

So, if he took a 3 week vacation every month you wouldn't care? Here again goes the false equivalency trap.

I'm really not concerned that he's taking this much time off. He's too incompetent to really do much of anything except tweet anyway. What is driving me crazy is that the right made so much about how much it cost for the Obama's entourage to go on his one or 2 vacations a year, yet nothing but crickets from the right about the enormous expense his off time is costing. Why don't you (GOP) just call yourself "The party of proud hypocrites"

Mr. President, please stay on vacation. Signed, the American People.

I'm hoping it's a "vacation" the same way that Fox News personalities take a vacation before they're fired.

He'd better hope like hell that nothing tragic happens while he's on vacation. This is going to be a point of contention in 2018 already, but if there's an attack or a natural disaster and he's off playing golf for two weeks? That's an easy talking point to bring up against any Republican member of Congress.

It would be interesting to know how much the taxpayers have funneled into Trump's bank accounts for this...

Seems like, if he insists on staying in/on his properties, HE should foot the bill for his protection details....Same with the Trump Tower secret service office.

They moved out of the Trump Tower and, for the moment, are in several trailers on the street while they look for somewhere more permanent. Seems to be mainly about cost although the NYT article also mentions a contract clause that the Trump organization refuses to agree to.

http://gizmodo.com/secret-service-command-center-booted-out-of-trump-tower-1797520836

From the gizmodo article:

In December, Politico reported that Trump Tower was being advertised as “The Best Value in the Most Secure Building in Manhattan,” and the Secret Service was listed as a “new amenity.”

This. I only wish he were required by law to take Congress with him.

But they only get one scoop of ice cream, Trump gets two scoops because he's a big boy now.

You can't parody that fucktard, he's literally the living parody of the stormfront musical "'Murica".

It would be entertaining but the twit can't sing.

To be fair - I don't think the amount of vacation time really matters; rather it is the quality of the work. Having said that he sure does a good job wasting tax payer money esp given he likely skimps on paying taxes. As for 'quality of his work'; well I guess I better not go too far in that direction but I will note that there sure is a lot of hate flying around.

My issue with it is where he goes. His businesses have been raking in tens of millions of tax payer dollars by his decisions to go to his own properties. It's not right. No wonder he donates his salary. It's table scraps compared to what he is getting by going to all of his own properties every couple of days.

Didn't I read somewhere that Secret Service broke their lease at Trump Tower in NYC because they couldn't agree on rates? Instead of occupying the floor below the Trump's residence, they are out on the street in a trailer.
That's correct. The article said that this was far less than an ideal security situation. On the positive side Trump hasn't stayed there since inauguration and his wife and son have since moved to the White House.

I have no beef with vacation, particularly in August. Sitting Presidents usually go away in August, heck so does congress.

The West wing is getting a makeover while he is gone, air conditioning is badly in need of replacement. It will be a big job so it makes sense for him to go away.

Btw, not an endorsement of our politicians, just acknowledging the miserable heat of D.C. In August

Yeah well I don't really care about the amount of time the President takes on vacation either, R or D.

What I do care about is hypocrisy.
  • Pres. Obama is about to embark on a 17 day vacation in his ‘native’ Hawaii, putting Secret Service away from families on Christmas. Aloha!
  • When will Obama next go on vacation if he wins the election? The day after.
  • President Obama has a major meeting on the N.Y.C. Ebola outbreak, with people flying in from all over the country, but decided to play golf!
  • "Don't take vacations. What's the point? If you're not enjoying your work, you're in the wrong job." -- Think Like A Billionaire
  • Obama has admitted that he spends his mornings watching @ESPN. Then he plays golf, fundraises & grants amnesty to illegals.
  • Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf.Worse than Carter
  • The Obama's Spain vacation cost taxpayers over $476K
  • We pay for Obama's travel so he can fundraise millions so Democrats can run on lies. Then we pay for his golf.

I don't need to say who tweeted all these, surely.

Hilariously, he's even hypocritical about Obama watching tv. I also love the bit about how Obama's trips are costing us money! Not only do Trump's trips also cost us money, that money goes to him!

What a complete and utter douche.

We wouldn't be making a big deal about it, except for...

"When I'm you're president I will not be taking any vacations! I will be too busy!" `Trump

He's a liar. Those are his words. He pounded Obama many times for being lazy. Yet, Trump is the laziest.

Just another politician who lied to get into the office.

I care about this. You take a vacation when things are going well; you don't piss off to a golf course when the roof is coming apart and the floors are leaking.
Even more so, he buried himself by relentlessly criticizing obama, a guy who got way more done and had a much more stable presidency.
I say have at him. You make your bed; you sleep in it. All of this will come back to bite him during the next presidential cycle. No one will believe anything he claims or says.

Is there a purpose to continually making yourself look like an uniformed jackass? Your unrelenting hatred should be directed towards some form of therapy. The self-medicating isn't working.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/04/politics/trump-white-house-renovations/index.html

"(CNN)President Donald Trump departs for a 17-day "working vacation" at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Friday, and while he's gone, the White House is getting some TLC.

Just like an episode of HGTV's "Fixer Upper," the minute Trump leaves, workers will begin around-the-clock renovations to the West Wing, including structural repairs to address a ceiling leak, HVAC work and repairs to the South Portico steps on the South Lawn. Additionally, renovations to the Navy Mess kitchen, the West Wing lower lobby, the IT system and generic cosmetic upgrades including fresh paint, carpet and curtains will be completed before his return later this month"

The WH is being vacated pretty much en masse.
