Is there a purpose to continually making yourself look like an uniformed jackass? Your unrelenting hatred should be directed towards some form of therapy. The self-medicating isn't working.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/04/politics/trump-white-house-renovations/index.html

"(CNN)President Donald Trump departs for a 17-day "working vacation" at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Friday, and while he's gone, the White House is getting some TLC.

Just like an episode of HGTV's "Fixer Upper," the minute Trump leaves, workers will begin around-the-clock renovations to the West Wing, including structural repairs to address a ceiling leak, HVAC work and repairs to the South Portico steps on the South Lawn. Additionally, renovations to the Navy Mess kitchen, the West Wing lower lobby, the IT system and generic cosmetic upgrades including fresh paint, carpet and curtains will be completed before his return later this month"

The WH is being vacated pretty much en masse.
Oh, that dump?

Hey, nice of you to take the high road with an immature personal attack.

That does make it better. My question then is: how much of this will actually involve work, and how much will taxpayers shell out to accommodate him at his golf club versus another location? This is the guy who'll cancel whole programs that cost less in a year than one of his Mar-A-Lago golf weekends.

I'm just trying to relate to you on a level a trailer dweller like yourself can comprehend. In case you don't know, 'trailer dweller' is not a derogatory term.

How much were you concerned when 0bama nearly doubled our debt? Not at all? Yes, I thought so. The only time proggies get concerned about spending is when other people are spending money in ways they don't approve of.

How much is he going to work? That's not worthy of an answer. Even the most simple of people understand that the job is 24/7/365. That petty hole you're digging is getting deeper. Cast off the shovel.

Bullshit. It's a personal attack. You've lost this argument because you can't act like a goddamned adult.

I'll grant that this particular vacation is quite justifiable because of WH renovations.

OTOH, it seems obvious that Trump's behavior otherwise is highly hypocritical in view of his criticism of Obama & his willingness to slash a variety of other programs.

It's always been FYGM for the Donald & being Prez just lets him play it to the max.

GWB doubled the debt spreading free, freedom & liberty at gunpoint & cutting taxes on the wealthy. That combined with financial deregulation overheated & nearly collapsed the economy. RR & GHWB quadrupled it in much the same way.

Nowhere is more out of touch than Florida. :colbert:
Well we have a lot of affluent residents here who live in their artificially insulated worlds and don't reap any of the negative repercussions of the policies this administration makes. When I drove down to and through Orlando yesterday I noticed a lot of high end auto dealerships like Ferrari which are influenced by the spending power of their demographics. Here in West Jacksonville we lots of used car lots.:p

1) Yep. It works both ways. Conservatives are a-okay running up the debt for their priorities as well.
2) He is doing ZERO work. For a party that has everything wrapped up, they sure as hell don't seem to be passing ANY legislation at all (turns out that's probably good). The Don certainly hasn't advanced anything he said he would do, even with the best opportunity to do so.

The GOP simpletons will repeat the same old lies though. A GOP president destroys the economy and wastes trillions on wars, tax cuts for the rich and other stuff, and that the economy is going down during that time is 'because of the previous Democratic president' or because of 'the Dems blocking legislation' (eventhough the Repubs have a majority in Congress and the Senate). Then when a Democrat becomes president again and the economy goes down a bit further at first or the debt has to be increased to pay for the recovery that's a clear sign that a Democratic president makes things worse, while when the economy starts to recover a while later that's a clear sign of the previous president's policies starting to take effect.

Whatever it takes to keep their base fed on cheap red meat smothered in bullshit sauce is what the Repubs up on the hill consider to be JOB #1.

Lies are what keeps the Repub Party whole. Lies are the threads that bind the supremacists, the religious fundies, the zealots and the die hard party faithful together. The party's existence is dependent on the constant stream of lies it manufactures daily, if not by the hour. And the reason for its essential reliance on lies is the fact that the GOP has to lie to its working class voters to reap their votes all while the GOP turns its back on them and ceaselessly works for the exclusive benefit of the very wealthy.

Fear and hate is the coin of the realm that reliably buys votes for the GOP and the coin is as good as gold in their own version of reality.

Trump is the epic manifestation of all of what the GOP has been and will ever be. He is the perfect example of what it takes to be the titular head of the party and of of what the party has devolved into.

What's truly scary about all of this is that no matter how dastardly and nefarious the GOP stoops to keep in power (The Trump Effect) it's more than acceptable for its constituents who have been so conditioned to fear and hate any and all that do not belong to that tribe, that cult, that soulless machina whose only purpose is to serve the few at the expense of the many.

It's always seemed to me that the (R) presidents fuck hp the economy, citizens get tired of it, vote in a (D) president who fixes things, often havig to raise taxes to do so, then, people get tired of prosperity, and vote in a (R) who fucks up the economy..................

The (R)'s decry the "tax and spend" democrats while ignoring and trying to hide the fact that the're usually "borrow and spend," leaving the country in greater debt...all to please the wealthy who benefit from both the lower taxes and the increased debt load.

This is one of those 'both sides' things that makes me crazy. Running up the debt during a global economic depression is a GOOD IDEA. Running up the debt when our economy is functioning well is a BAD IDEA. The idea that because Democrats ran up the debt in the first situation and the Republicans want to drive up the debt in the second situation they are the same makes me crazy.

Conservatives don't care about debt. They've never cared about debt. They care about cutting social welfare spending and debt is a useful way to do that. That's it.

They moved out of the Trump Tower and, for the moment, are in several trailers on the street while they look for somewhere more permanent. Seems to be mainly about cost although the NYT article also mentions a contract clause that the Trump organization refuses to agree to.

http://gizmodo.com/secret-service-command-center-booted-out-of-trump-tower-1797520836

From the gizmodo article:

In December, Politico reported that Trump Tower was being advertised as “The Best Value in the Most Secure Building in Manhattan,” and the Secret Service was listed as a “new amenity.”

This has such potential. Need to bring in some port-a-jons, a couple dumpsters, more light towers, generators, a PA system; spiffy the place up. Some drug dogs would be a nice touch.

Maybe Trump's so disgusted with the WH accommodations, he did call it a dump, that he just needed to get away from it all so he could recover from the exposure to a lower lifestyle.:D

Didnt he actually say he wouldnt take any vacations? Can we wipe this turd away soon please?
yes
"I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off.”.
"There's just so much to be done," Trump told CBS' 60 Minutes in an interview broadcast Nov. 13, 2016. "So I don't think we'll be very big on vacations, no."
“I’m going to be working for you, I’m not going to have time to go play golf,” he told supporters in Virginia.
He told Larry King in an interview that year: “Most of the people I know that are successful really don’t take vacations. Their business is their vacation. I rarely leave. You know that.
“Don’t take vacations. What’s the point? If you’re not enjoying your work, you’re in the wrong job,” Trump wrote in his 2004 book, Trump: Think Like a Billionaire.
“I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done,” Trump, 69, tells ITK. "I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off.”

Another trivial story to keep the masses (us) talking and distracted. The leftists will obviously attack this type of behavior and the right wingers will obviously defend everything their man does. Reverse the roles when Obama was in power.

The masses love to pick sides and teams. That's why we're given sports teams to root for. The same logic applies to politics despite what you want to believe.
