First, what has he gained that he didn't already have?
Attention for this long, and this focused. The ability to now forever promote himself as a guy who ran for president.
It's hilarious to me that people think Trump is or ever has been any stranger to self-promotion and attention-whoring. He's been doing it from the start.
This question is kind of like asking, why would the man want a reality show on a major TV network vs. just doing his damn job building hotels and whatever else Trump actually does.

Why isn't Tim Cook setting up his reality TV show instead of running Apple?
Lost? Nothing. He doesn't give a damn about anyone else's notions of crediblity or relevance. Trump is into promoting Trump. This has been doing it for him- big time. Here we are talking about him.
I'll say this though, his policy positions are not optimized for self promotion.
LOL policy positions. Like his "Build a wall" nonsense? Again, he doesn't care about policy positions being well thought out and actually practical, it's about putting on a show and getting....

It's the greatest chance to attention-whore and self-promote he could have ever stumbled across. It's not work to him, this is the time of his fucking life! All cameras on him, headlines about him, attention of the entire world directed at him. He's lovin' it. the goof couldn't possibly have worked out better.
And speaking of attention-whoring goofballs who get off on any soft of attention, be it "batshit insane" negative, or on occasion positive... why would I be surprised that our resident attention-whore putting on his crazy act aka: Moonbeam- would bristle at another attention-whore being called on it?
