Katie Waldman, a spokeswoman for DHS said: “We have 5,000 convicted criminal aliens from Vietnam with final orders of removal—these are non-citizens who during previous administrations were arrested, convicted, and ultimately ordered removed by a federal immigration judge. It’s a priority of this administration to remove criminal aliens to their home country.”
It looks like the previous administrations were also a party to the same rules but failed to follow through. I don't see an issue here.
Once that may have been enough but the DHS and Trump have no credibility. The consequence of this dishonesty is that the implicit of trust in institutions has changed to a mandate of the assumption of falsehood. That's how you destroy a democracy and that part, the undermining, has happened.
