Amazingly, you can't get away with hoarding criminal evidence by storing it among personal effects and documents covered by attorney-client privilege. Trump is still gonna try, though.

It also ties the storage of the documents directly to Trump as opposed to, "lots of people work at Mar-a-lago; how was I to know they had classified documents?"

Yeah, they are joking about it now, but those passports may singularly fux him. I know exactly where my passports are. They are kept in a safe with other important documents(emergency cash, international cash..etc etc.). To argue you aren't aware which documents were next to and in the same location where you keep your 3 passports is highly dubious.

Melania has released a statement saying she’s never permit him mixing this stuff with her things. But does make you wonder how many times he tried though.

The biggest disaster facing the country is that Trump can do no wrong in the eyes of his supporters, who number a good 40% of the population. All he has to do is give his version of events or deny or spout the magic words "fake news" to absolve himself of anything no matter how serious it may be. Recipe for civil war.

I actually obey the rules. I worked at Walmart for 18 months, never stole a thing, nor did I help anyone else do so. Okay, I confess. A guy who was training me told me to help myself a cold bottle of water in the stockroom. So, I did. He told me later I could have been fired.

Why would I keep something that is marked classified and more importantly, how would I even get my hands on something like that? Like all working folks, my fantasy was to be behind an armored car on a lightly used road that overturned and its doors spilled open and loose bills are filling the air.

The closest I came to something top secret is when I was sitting next to a Japanese shipping executive on a flight back to Newark. Forget where I was coming from, but it was some convention I had covered.

Not realizing that the rumpled guy sitting in the window seat was a reporter who actually knew about this industry, he pulled out a thin binder with a design for a new containership. I could not copy it. Couldn't even reach into my bag for a Reporter's Notebook pad.

I furtively glances filed away the company name, and tried to memorize the dimensions of ship and its carrying capacity. My boy noticed me eyeing his pages, but never said anything.

That's it. Wanna arrest me? Accuse me of stealing trade secrets? Gather your evidence and then ... get one of those warrants, affidavits and what else? One of those subpeenee things. And then you can (gasp!) CHARGE me ... go ahead.

Emperus, they might have waited for you. I hear you got movie star looks.

Let's put it this way, I did not like the way Bernie's people treated Hillary supporters such as myself all through 2016 and then have 10% of them vote for Trump in revenge.

As far as Progressives go, many of you are what I call "some timey." Sometimes you're with Democrats, other times you're not. I prefer folks who have my back - behind my back.

Circular word salad defense.

She's not his lawyer. She's his PR person. And she's very good at pivoting mid-sentence so you don't have time to actually consider the reality behind any of her statements.

That would all mean jack shit in a court of law. To any extent she could capitalize on this talent and her other "talents" in opening/closing statements to a jury, she can't prevent the prosecution from methodically laying a foundation for why serious crimes were committed and presenting evidence thereof.
 
Trump's public statement / defense is that he declassified the documents.
He's a special kind of stupid. This is a power he does not have. But Republicans are claiming it is real and it sounds good, so Trump goes for it.

Such a defense cuts off other notions, such as someone else did it! Someone else put it there. Not after he claims knowledge, ownership, etc.
He is cutting himself off from deniability through sheer stupidity.
